| It being offered a free gift and taking it, then being thankful for it for the rest of your life. It's a gift given out of love and prized for ever. |

Please allow me to quote scripture.
Romans 10:9-10 says: "...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Dontcha just love the Book of Romans?
I believe this is because that step of faith, which is speaking of your belief in Jesus is like opening to the door...After that God reveals all kinds of wonderful things to us. The more we read, the more we gain a hunger for His Word. Again Romans 12:2 says "and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God". Therefore, and we read and pray, we are "transformed" and the "new creation in Christ" begins to emerge. Those are among the first steps in our walk with Him...
ahem...I dont mean to get all windy! lol I hope that answers your question...at least that is my opinion. |

Victoria,I've read this question of yours over many times!
What does it mean to me? Let's have a look!
(1) First the Holy Spirit had pulled at my heart for some time. So first you can't be saved until the Holy Spirit convicts you!
(2)You must humble yourself before God & man
and ask forgivness of your sins! He is faithful to forgive us! It is only thru the blood of Jesus we are saved.
(3)It means dieing to all the old sins and bad habits that are as filthy rags to our God.
Yes we die to all those sinful things and he will wash us white as snow!
(4)One of the first things I noticed the incredable peace that come over my life. Then I noticed many of the things I use to do, just aren't as important anymore! Oh sure there were some things that will take longer to corral! But with the help
of the Holy Spirit I'm sure we can put them behind us!
(5)It means if I stay true and endure until the end, I will be with Him forever A-men!
With Love,
Nobby

Thank you Nobby:
I have been really busy the past month and have not had a chance to barely breath so I am glad to get this time to read. Boy this site is growing. It is exciting isn't it? Let us pray that in growth, the great Admins will keep it what is seems to now be. A great place to think and learn about God.
Your post was great. I agree.
By the way, I still owe you a response from two months ago. What a creep I am. I have not forgotten. I have two senior seminars to lead this week, so I will get to it over the holidays which are slow (I pray)
God Bless and Happy Holidays.
I hope that you health is daily improving.

I think of calling upon the Lord to be saved as the opposite of trusting in your works to be saved.
It is part of the nature of the flesh to think that good works and living a moral life will win God's favor. Paul called this "glorying in the flesh".
Calling upon the Lord to be saved, to me, means trusting in what Jesus has done, not in what we do, to attain and maintain our relationship with God.
