I have it in my heart to diiscuss things that are happening in our nation, and in our world, and how we as believers, must respond to these things. Oil prices are at record levels. Prices at the pump for gasoline are the highest level we've ever seen, while experts are predicting even higher prices in the coming months. Skyrocketing fuel prices are having a ripple effect throughout our economy. Unemployment figures are at a twenty year high. Home foreclosures are increasing. The United States economy is iin freefall.
In times like these, iit's easy to be filled with fear and dread. Uncertainity concerrning the future raises many questions. What if I lose my job? what if gasoline reaches 5 dollars a gallon or more? How will I ever be able to afford it? Are we going to lose everything we've worked so hard for? How are we going to be able to make it? what are we going to do?
Church, I do have some good news for you. There is absolutely nothing about these troubling times that is greater than Our Mighty God! In the Bible, God is described as, the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity ( Isaiah 57:15). That means He forever exists in eternity past, present, and future. He knew these days were coming, nothing that is currently happening is catching God off guard. He has made ample provision to meet the needs of everyone of His children.
God never changes. One of His names in the Word of God is Jehova-Jireh. The actual meaning of this name is, the God who sees ahead, and makes provision. God supplies all your need ( not greed) according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus.
This time is for us, as believers, to be who we really are. we're not going to draw back in fear. This is a time to rise up in God-given faith and confidence, and refuse to allow circumstances to move us off our trust in the Lord.
Peace, Golfjack |

well said...and I agree completley.
As I"ve said before ( in another thread) I"m a SAHM of 4 children, my husband now works 16hrs. a day ; 6days a week...we drive a LARGE yukon to seat all 6 in our family and needless to say, the gas alone is un-be-lievable ...but I hold STRONG to my faith in God....the fact that these troubling times are laid out for us in scripture is a comfort to me, for like you said, God KNEW this time was coming...He prepared ahead for us, his children, and for those who are lost and don't know, TRUELY know our Lord in these days...well...I just can't imagine the fear they must have.
I for one, could not make it one day without our Father in my heart.
very well said golfJack... and a good reminder to us all to lean on God now when our hearts are troubled. _________________ ____________________

I truly appreciate your thoughts and your heart golfjack.
things are getting tough, and it seems that tougher times may be coming too. With the floods in Iowa and Missouri, a lot of crops have been lost which will more than likely raise the cost of food as well as the fuel prices going up.
Pharaoh had a dream. And he showed the dream to Joseph. And Joseph predicted that there were good times and bad times on the horizon. That while the going was good they should lay aside provisions for the times that were bad, and so in this way many were saved through the great famine in those days.
Today is as if it were the days when Pharoah dreamed the dream and searched for one to understand the times.
If we are wise like Joseph was wise, we will come through this fine. We may need to tighten a few belts, give up some "toys", but in the end, God will see us through.
Now is the time to prepare for those who are unable to prepare for themselves. This is the time to keep in mind your neighbour who in the later days (come winter), will have time with heating, food, and those things which will help them survive.
I'm talking about the elderly and the sick who may end up being left to the wolves to fend for themselves. And we as their neighbours watching out for one another.
It's tough right now for everyone, but tomorrow may be a lot tougher for some than for others.
Let's just plan as best we can today to be there for those who will need us most tomorrow.
And personally, I don't care if my neighbour is atheist or christian, muslim, or black, white, male, female, old or young.
we are going to need to stick together all of us..and we will make it through.
May God Bless Us All Today,
So that we may bless those who will need the blessings we can share with them, tomorrow.
Hugs golfjack.
hope all is well with you..
