Hey everybody.

I wanted to share this with you all, and see what you guys make of it.

My grandmother sent me some information on an interesting theory that attempts to reconcile science with the creation account in Genesis. Here is the gist of it:

"The Bible states that the earth was compacted out of and by water (2 Peter 3:5). It has been estimated that the universe, originally a ball of pure water, would have been two light years in diameter. If the entire mass of the universe were together in a ball, its unthinkably immense gravity would instantly collapse into a black hole with an event horizon (where time stops) 450 light years out. The atoms within the water would be crushed, as well as the electrons and protons, and the heavier elements of the Earth and stars would be formed by fusion reactions.

"At the time God created space (the firmament) He divided or stretched the waters above, which would become space and the universe, from the waters below the firmament, which would become the Earth. The effect of gravitational collapse of all this mass and stretching of space outward from Earth would cause billions of years of time to elapse in outer space while only days would elapse on the Earth.

"On the sixth day, God stopped stretching space, and all the stars appeared to Adam in the night sky. Starlight traveling billions of years through space, due to the stretching of the fabric of space, would reach Earth in only a few Earth days. This phenomenon is called gravitational time dilation."

I found it to be very interesting. Have any of you heard of something like this?

haven't heard it before, but it certainly is interesting.

Be careful though, such ideas might get you stoned by the YEC crowd, or banished by the TOE crowd....

Thanx for that. I will do some research on the subject and get back to you.

There is a theory out there called "The Hydro-Plate theory" which touches a little on this subject but from a more planitary and geological level than a universal or stellar level.

again thanx
