A shocking outcome for this Worlds Christians?
Most of this Worlds Christians will not believe, until it is too late, that the Christ may have some shocking words to speak to them all! They imagine that they will hear the words, "Well done good and faithful slave" ... but what they may hear is a far cry from that! They could possibly hear: ... "I never knew you, Get away from me you workers of lawlessness." [Matthew 7:23; 25:21]
We notice in the following list of the numbers involved in the World's great Religious sytems, that Christianity has, according to this list some 2 Billion adherents, but does that number harmonize with what the Bible has to say about how many will enter the kingdom? We will see, that it does not! We can see from the following list also that many have their own way of entering into the Kingdom. Will they be allowed to enter in though, that is the question? We will also see, that they will not! Now as to the information found on the Internet about the number involved in this World's great Religious system, we read the following:
"The exact number of religions in the world is unknown. Best estimates place the number around 4200. Of this number, a dozen have been classified as “major world religions.” The following list mentions the twelve major world religions in alphabetical order:"
n Baha’I (7 million adherents)
n Buddhism (360 million)
n Christianity (2 billion)
n Confucianism (6 million)
n Hinduism (900 million)
n Islam (1.3 billion)
n Jainism (4 million)
n Judaism (14 million)
n Shinto (4 million)
n Sikhism (23 million)
n Daoism (2.7 million)
n Zoroastrianism (150,000)
We will notice that Christianity has some two Billion adherents, but is that number in harmony with what the Bible has to say? Notice now what Jesus had to say about this matter:
"Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped is the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it." [Matthew 7: 13,14]
So, from among this Two Billion adherents of Christendoms great Religious System, perhaps only a very few would make it into the Kingdom. Even that, though, cannot be stated with any accuracy, because maybe none of them would constitute the few spoken of by Jesus in Matthew. For certain, though, many of their number are on the path to destruction and will not be able to get into the Kingdom. The Apostle Luke made mention of this fact at Luke 13:23 in these words: "Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will seek to get in but will not be able." So, according to that scripture the majority of this Two Billion will not make it into the Kingdom according to those words. [Matthew 7:21-23]
All of that being said, is there any way that we can ensure that we will hear the words "Well done good and faithful servant?" ... Of course, there is, as the Apostle Paul pointed out, when he said the following: "Become imitators of me, even as I am of Christ." [1Corinthians 11:1] If we can say as did the Apostle Paul that we are genuinely imitating the walk of the Christ manifesting his Christ-like qualities in our everyday lives, then our chances of hearing those positive words spoken by the Christ are very good; but if we are not the chances of us hearing, "I never knew you, get away from me you workers of lawlessness," are even better! [Matthew 7:21-30; 25: 21-30]
The Apostle John had this to say about being 'imitators of Paul, as he was of the Christ'. We read these words of the Apostle John on that: "In fact to this [course] you were called, because even Christ suffered for you, leaving you a model to follow his steps closely." [1 Peter 2:21]
Now no human could walk the walk of the Christ perfectly. He could do it because he was perfect. We, being imperfect, will stumble many times. We just keep getting up, after a fall and continue on trying as best we can in our imperfect bodies. It is when we give up and stop trying we are in danger of hearing those words: "I never knew you! Get away from me you workers of lawlessness. Now, that would be a shocking outcome, would it not? Texas |
