Just was turned on to a short story by Arthur C. Clarke written in 1953. It's very short and takes under ten minutes to read.

Wow. When I was a teenager, I was a huge fan of Arthur C. Clarke. I read his stuff all the time.
Maybe I'll look into it again. Thanks for sharing.

I remember reading that story when I was a teenager too. I enjoyed it a lot. Clarke's stories were mind-blowing.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Arthur C. Clarke. I remember reading his story The Nine Billion Names of God when I was a teenager.

The novel of his that really first caught my imagination was The City and the Stars. In high school, when we had to write a book review of some story that we had recently read, I chose that one. What an exquisite vision: to consciously reject physical immortality and to come to understand the importance of death.

Through the genius of Clarke we now understand that science fiction can not only predict the future, it can help make the future.
