Mat 5:1 ¶ And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
Mat 5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Mat 5:3 Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:4 Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Mat 5:5 Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Mat 5:6 Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Mat 5:7 Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Mat 5:8 Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Mat 5:9 Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Mat 5:10 Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Mat 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

who are the poor in spirit?
and what does it mean to be poor in spirit? |
Hi Lt,
The poor in spirit
are
those who are poor physically
but rich with the spirit of love for selves as rich and as poor.
So those who poor in spirit and what is means to be so are the same: to be in Love under all conditions and their opposites.
This also therefore applies to those who are rich in spirit:
those who are physically rich and also rich with Love for themselves as rich and as poor.
Rather than write or say all that,
God just says Poor in spirit or rich in spirit.
Those who are rich in Hate
are
those who hate being poor but love being rich,
OR
those who love being poor and hate being rich.
Mt 6:24
Proverbs 13:
7There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
To those who are poor physically in whatever but rich spiritually and who also want to be rich physically in money or health or i whatever,
God says:
3 John 1:
2Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Rich and Poor can subbed for weak and strong in 2 Cor 12:9-10 and it works by giving us more meanings:
My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my richness is made perfect in poverty.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my poverties, that the Riches of Christ may rest upon me.
10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake:
for when I am poor, then am I rich or Love-rich or Rich in spirit.
God tries to give the secret away in Mt 5:8!
With the Love that makes it blessed to be a fool in spirit or a fool in Love, humble in spirit or humble in Love,
1 Cor 1:25-28. 3:18.

Hi atoz!
thankyou for joining me!!
Mar 2:17 When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
those who are poor in spirit...
twofold..
they that are rich in spirit and physically poor..need not a physician, but those who are poor in spirit and physically rich need the physician.
I came not to call those who are rich in spirit..But those who are poor in spirit to repentance.
what determines richness or poorness in the spiritual sense?
it's not money or lands or possesions of any physical nature.
What is making them spiritually sick?
What is spiritual poverty and what are the things which make the spirit rich?
metaphorically speaking..
you are a garden...what makes your garden grow?
or what is hindering your garden from growing?
hugs atoz

xlnt, lt!
Lack of Love or the Presence of Hate is making them sick or poor in spiritual health.
Weeds of Hate or the soil of Hate is stopping my garden from growing.
Revelation 2:
9I know thy works,
and tribulation,
and poverty,
(but thou art rich)
and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
"In the garden of your heart,
Plant nothing but the Rose of Love!"
Bahaullah.
with the water of Love watering the garden of Love,

I was looking a little deeper at those who were considered "poor" in spirit and what happened to them once they were found..
1Cr 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous (sinners, sick ones needing a physician) shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1Cr 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
However,
1Cr 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Mat 5:3 Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, extortioners.
sometimes blessings can be found in the least obvious places..
Isa 62:12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
1Pe 2:9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Mat 4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
Dan 4:17 This matter [is] by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
Hbr 1:1 ¶ God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hbr 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Hbr 1:3 Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Hbr 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Luk 7:40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
Luk 7:41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
Luk 7:42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
Luk 7:43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that [he], to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
