Heya,
I'm new, just joined..
I've never really known what to believe, and have never really bothered.
But lately my mates been talking to me about different religions and stuff..
He sent me this site, so I thought I might check it out..
Not really much to say about me.. I'm 16, moved round a lot, and finally want to be independent, trying to find my own path in life. I dont have many friends I can rely on, and me, my mother and step dad, argue loads, but thats the life of any teenager right...
I'm in a 6th form college, and taking English, Dance and Photography. I love to read and write. And I want to be a writer.. I'm in the middle of writing a book at the moment, and have written enough poems to fill more than one book.
Well I suppose thats me |

Hi there Ardnassdac
I'm an old bloke from England. Most of the members are from across the pond so, from our perspective, they're stange nocturnal creatures. | Quote: | | But lately my mates been talking to me about different religions and stuff.. |
It must be important to him/her/them.
You'll find many different and eclectic views around here. I try to consider the spirit behind the statements.
I wish you well in your quest.
My advice (if you want it) - let the inner voice of Love be your guide.
God bless and see you around
Wilber
(P.S. If you're a writer, don't let these critters misguide you with their spellings and grammar, they tend to abuse the queens English quite a lot but keep that between you and I) |

Welcome Ardnassdac. As far as spelling is concerned, we Canucks spell about 99% of words the English way ("tire-tyre" is one of the exceptions) but all the defaults on our spell-checkers are American. _________________ One would never discover the limits of soul, should one traverse every road -- so deep a measure does it possess.

Welcome, Ardnassdac!
Unique name! What does it mean?
At 16, you have your whole life still ahead of you.
Learn to love yourself and the world will be your oyster!
At 16, I wish someone had told me that!
So English is your key subject---since everything else IS english: art, math, dance, photography, etc.
Q: At 16, is math english?smile
Is math art?
Is art math?
Is dance math?
with all Love and Respect,'
atoz

Heya
Ardnassac is my first name backwards, I've never liked Cassandra lol...
Thanks for the advice, I will do
I dont think any subject can be just one thing. A lot of subjects interlink. I never was really good at Math, however I did get a B at GCSE, which came as a big shock!
However, I dont think that the subjects you have put together can be the same to some 16 year olds, but not me.. I always found English a lot more interllectual and interesting than Math. Math is just numbers on a page, bores me to death, but change those numbers to letters and words, and I could sit there all day just working out what they mean.
Math and Art are quite similar, I cant draw or paint to save my life. However the photography side of Art is amazing, and although I love taking photos and spending hours on end in the dark room developing my photos; I also love the book work. Using my own imagination to create an interesting layout and content for each page.
Dance and Math go together easily. You have to be able to count for starters.. When you do A-Level or any other higher education dance, you generally have to learn notation, which is exsactly like maths.. It's all about symbols, it's very confusing, but I actually like doing it. Being good at maths helps a lot, theres some girls in my class who cant do math and so they cant do notation..
If you have a passion for something, then it is different, but if not, it can be like any other subject.. I read and write because I love it, however to people who dont, it can be as bad as sat doing math.

Well atoz you've found someone else who loves words and their opposites or should I say their backwardsits.
Ardnassdac - cassandra, I'm surprised that one got past atoz - he is a real life living breathing walking talking genious (unless he's just a bit of software, I'm never too sure).
I think it was that dastardly devillish 'd' that deceived and detracted and did it in for him

Heya Ardnassac!
Missed that one---[again Wilber!]
But what an interesting name based on just spelling Cassandra backwards!
Hmmmm I must try that!smile
Your one sentence says it all!:
"I dont think any subject can be just one thing."
I'll start a thread in NOAH's ARK on :
"English is everything else is based on God's Unconditional Love,"
where we can discuss all this more to our delight backwards and forwards!
with Love and Respect,
zota,
who is both lexic/cixel and dyslexic/cexilsyd,

Yes, the D got me too. Cassandra is a great name. May you (Cassandra) have your namesake's gift of prophecy without the curse. _________________ One would never discover the limits of soul, should one traverse every road -- so deep a measure does it possess.
