Hello all,
I am new to this forum. My name is Christine and I am a minority Christian living and working in a Muslim country in the Middle East. There is not much in the way of Christian Fellowship here so I thank god for the internet.

We are fortunate in that we have one Christian church here in Qatar and we are respected for our own beliefs provided we are not flaunting it around the country.

Being very open minded and accepting of everyone has really allowed me to look at my own Christianity versus Islam and to find and know the real truth. Of course I knew the truth before but now my conviction of Jesus my savior is far greater than it ever was.

I have had my beliefs tested many times since I have been here. How could I possibly believe that Jesus is the son of God? I have listened to everything about Islam and the Quran with an open mind and great respect and I am now convinced more than ever that our bible given to us by god presents all of the evidence that Jesus is his son. There is no possible way for me to believe differently.

I witness everyday here that no matter what one's religion or beliefs are the absence of action contradicts ones faith. I often wondered how can thousands of people pray five times a day and then walk out the door and treat other people like dogs. Of course we all sin, but God expects us to strive everyday of our lives to try and be like him.

I am looking forward to being a member because as a Christian the absence of fellow Christians and discussion makes the journey of growth more difficult.

You can call me Christine!

Living in the Middle East has been full of wonderful experiences and difficulties, but I am grateful that I have witnessed the truth first hand.

Christine or C2000,

welcome!

What an opportunity you have living as an xtian in Qatar to set forth Love to represent JC as per John 13:35!

And from what you say, I wd say that you have that xtian attitude of Love and Respect for yourself and so for others as yourself, and so are setting a great example to Muslims.

So you will do well here and anywhere!smile
Welcome, again!

In Love of myself as a dog so I can take being treated in Love as a dog by JC as in Matthew 15:26-28 or in Hate as a dog by Muslims,

You are so right. People here fear God and here I am with a passionate love for Jesus that I can share. In finding the truth I think the people have been misled by a false prophet to believe that Jesus is not our savior. What greater attack could Satan make on people that to have them discredit our Savior.

1 Thessalonians 5:21: "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.''

Jesus gives us guidelines for determining false prophets. Matthew 7:15-23.."Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

True prophets reflect Jesus!

I've got so many questions about religion and The Bible, so I'm hoping that this forum will help. It's been a very long time since I've stepped into a church or even opened up a Bible. I've gotten to a point in my life where I seem to be craving direction and UP seems like a good direction to me. #angel

I am new to this group also. But from what I have seen there are many people here that can help answer your questions so the best way is to jump in and starting asking those questions. If you seek direction and the truth I am confident you will find it. May God bless you on your journey!
