|
Cheney still insists that Saddam was friends with Al Quaeda. Check it out:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17975678/
But his arguments are getting weaker and weaker:
| The Dick wrote: | | “He [Zarqawi] took up residence there before we ever launched into Iraq, organized the al-Qaida operations inside Iraq before we even arrived on the scene and then, of course, led the charge for Iraq until we killed him last June ... As I say, they were present before we invaded Iraq.” |
During the White House's propaganda campaign prior to attacking Iraq, they were painting a pretty certain picture that Saddam was behind Sept. 11th. They've retreated from that lie, and now they aren't even saying that Saddam and Ossy were buddies... They've retreated all the way back to saying that some Al Quaida guys were in Iraq at the time...
Big deal! Some Al Quaida 'operatives' were in America at the time learning how to fly planes! If Saddam was behind Sept. 11th, then by that same logic George Bush was behind Sept. 11th!?!
The new Pentagon report totally backs up the Sept. 11th commission report which says that Saddam was not working with Al Quaida, and that the entire pretext for war was a lie.
| Quote: | However, a declassified Pentagon report released Thursday said that interrogations of the deposed Iraqi leader and two of his former aides as well as seized Iraqi documents confirmed that the terrorist organization and the Saddam government were not working together before the invasion.
The Sept. 11 Commission’s 2004 report also found no evidence of a collaborative relationship between Saddam and Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida network during that period. |
Here's an important part:
| Quote: | The report, which had been released in summary form in February, said that former Pentagon policy chief Douglas J. Feith had acted inappropriately but not illegally in reviewing prewar intelligence. Levin has claimed that Feith’s intelligence assessment was wrong and distorted but nevertheless formed part of the basis on which President Bush took the country to war.
Although Feith’s assessment in mid-2002 offered several examples of cooperation between Saddam’s government and al-Qaida, the report said, the CIA had concluded months earlier that no evidence supported the existence of significant or long-term relationships. |
So it looks like this Feith guy was just another yes-man stooge (like Tennet) telling the White House what it wanted to hear. Doesn't he deserve a Presidential Medal of Freedom for that?
Here's Rummy blowing sunshine up his ass:
| Rummy wrote: | | "Doug Feith, of course, is without question, one of the most brilliant individuals in government. He is – he’s just a rare talent. And from my standpoint, working with him is always interesting. He’s been one of the really the intellectual leaders in the administration in defense policy aspects of our work here." |
Wikipedia has more on this loser:

I just can't believe that he didn't get the medal with Bremmer and Tennet. _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."
