| If you had only one book of the Bible to read for the rest of your life, which one would it be? |

How can one answer a question like that? The 66 books of the Bible form a whole. Anyway purely hypothetically, probably:
The Gospel of John

| Maybe Paul's letter to the Romans. I'm glad we don't have to choose just one. |

I gave this quit a bit of thought! It took an awful lot of thinking! Well I finally narrowed it down to two books! Then I couldn't make up my mine. I just couldn't see how I could do without either one!
Then I finally decided on one of the two!
So I went and got my bible out, and I turned to the book that I had decided on.
I put my thumb on the first page of the book & my four fingers on the last page.
But when I tried to lift the book out, 65 more came right with it! Who-da-thought?
jwp, I just don't want to give any of them up!
Oh Tiger's ,the Gospel of John was good, or maybe Acts, especially the
29th verse.
It's food for thought,

Very good question.
I think I'll have to settle for the whole Bible because the songs of praises, the prayers, the words of wisdom, the words of romantic passion, the accounts of faithful ones and the errors of those without faith, the history of the nation as it prepared for the Messiah and the history of the events of Jesus Christ and afterwards really makes it hard for me to just settle on one or a few books. I can't confine myself to a single steady mood.
I do know that there are thin Bibles available that contain various selected books of the Bible. I'm sure that's great for commuters and others who would like something to read while going to work on the bus or train but want something easy and compact to carry. And I'm sure it is a great way to start the day having and considering a portion of God's Word.
Peace

Hi Ryck
Aw, can't confine yourself to a single mood?
Man wouldn't that get old in a hurry?
We are very fortunate to have the bible and not have to hide it, as in some countries!
Take Care,

If I could only choose one book of the Bible to read, it would be Psalms or Proverbs.
Psalms because it shows so much of the emotions of each person in the world. The highs and lows if you will of Mankind. It also shows how we should live our lives.
Proverbs because it shows us really, how we as Christians first and humans second ought to live our lives.
However, I do agree with those who said all the books of the Bible. I'd hate to have to have just one to read.
One of the other reasons I chose Psalms is because I studied Psalms throught my life. In fact, I memorized Psalms 119 from start to finish, word perfect for Bible Memorization. For those who may not know, it's the longest Psalms there is. So I know more about Psalms then most of the other books of the Bible. |
