I'm from Northern Ireland, and I'll be starting my GCSE in Religious Education in September.
I've read quite a bit of the Bible as well as part of the Qur'ran and the Satanic Bible(* Twisted Evil *). I'm confirmed a Catholic, though I don't know if I could still call myself one, though the Bible and Christian teaching are still of importance to me in terms of moral vision, though I like to draw my own interpretation.

I'm also learning New Testament Greek, so if anyone could suggest any material, I'd be very grateful.

Hi medbh, welcome.

What's a GCSE in Religious Education? What can you do with it?

Hi Medbh4805,

A hearty welcome!

There are some catholics and former caths on here, and with you having read up on Satan and the Koran and etc, you'll learn and teach too.
Great site.

A GCSE is a General Certificate of Secondary Education(UK). You usually do about 9-11 GCSEs at 16, though people do more or less depending on their ability.
An A*-B grade means you can study an A-level (Advanced level) in your chosen subject, usually completed when you leave school at 18.

Hello again medbh4805,

Welcome, welcome. I have a perfect suggestion for your New Testament Greek studies. It is a free Bible computer program which you can download at "e-sword".net. It has many Bible versions, dictionaries, commentaries, but more importantly it has:

1)Greek New Testament (Majority Text)
2)Scrivener Textus Receptus
3)Robinson/Pierpont Byzantine Greek New Testament (w/ Strong's)
4)Textus Receptus Greek New Testament (w/ Strong's)
5)Westcott-Hort Greek New Testament (w/ Strong's)
6)Greek New Testament (w/ Variants)

The cool thing you will discover about it is that you can do Topic Notes and Study Notes to each verse in the Bible that you study. Just press the Study Notes Tab and then click the chain link and it will automatically synchronize with the Bible.

If you have any problems getting it set up feel free to give me a bell.

Cheers
Bitterlily

Welcome and glad you're here. Hope you enjoy it. One source you might try is A.T. Robertson's Word Pictures of the New Testament.
