WHat is the purpose in knowing about God if we don't know Him?

WHat is the point of reading His word if it does not change us?

How else does God speak to us today. WHat does it mean to hear what the Spirit says?

What does this passage mean?

1Co 2:12 But we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit from God, so that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God.
1Co 2:13 Which things we also speak, not in words taught in human wisdom, but in Words taught of the Holy Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.
1Co 2:14 But a natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1Co 2:15 But the spiritual one discerns all things, but he is discerned by no one.
1Co 2:16 For "who has known the mind of the Lord?" "Who will teach Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Good questions.

I think we have been talking about this a lot lately. How we cannot respond to God until we are quickened by His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit persuades and teaches us. Jesus said He would send us the Spirit to teach us all things.

That is why our approach to Scripture is crucial. The interesting thing about it is that we cannot understand the Bible until we believe it. And we cannot believe it until we are quickened by the Holy Spirit and respond.
