i hope this question is not too basic.
i'd like to know the all the biblical citations for the proscriptions against:
1. murder
2. homosexuality
3. theft
4. lying (false witness or deception)
i realize that the proscriptions may be in law ("thou shalt not kill") and by example ("cain slew abel, and was cursed"), but i'm looking specifically for proscriptions stated as law, book and verse.
thanks |

1.
Exo 20:13 Thou shalt not kill. [the Hebrew word used is more accurately translated "murder" anyway]
2.
Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. [of course, this is actually talking about ritual homosexual sex, but then the Bible does have a long history of outdated prohibitions being adapted to things people consider unpleasant]
3.
Exo 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
Exo 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
4.
Exo 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
What you said at the end doesn't seem to make any sense. Could you clarify? |

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? [is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. |
