The importance of caring for the health should be taught as a Bible requirement.

Perfect obedience to God's commands calls for conformity to the laws of the being. The science of education includes as full a knowledge of physiology as can be obtained.

No one can properly understand his obligations to God unless he understands clearly his obligations to himself as God's property.

He who remains in sinful ignorance of the laws of life and health, or who willfully violates these laws, sins against God.

6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own ?

6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

If they are sick, they send for the doctor--believe whatever he may tell, and swallow anything he may prescribe; for do they not pay him a liberal fee, and is it not his business to understand their physical ailments, and what to prescribe to make them well, without their being troubled with the matter? ...

So closely is health related to our happiness, that we cannot have the latter without the former.
A practical knowledge of the science of human life is necessary in order to glorify God in our bodies.

It is therefore of the highest importance that among the studies selected for childhood, physiology should occupy the first place.

How few know anything about the structure and functions of their own bodies and of nature's laws!

Many are drifting about without knowledge, like a ship at sea without compass or anchor; and what is more, they are not interested to learn how to keep their bodies in a healthy condition and prevent disease.

Self-Denial Essential (At least that was what Jesus Christ said ! ) The indulgence of animal appetites has degraded and enslaved many.

Self-denial and a restraint upon the animal appetites are necessary to elevate and establish an improved condition of health and morals, and purify corrupted society.

Every violation of principle in eating and drinking blunts the perceptive (spiritual) faculties, making it impossible for them to appreciate or place the right value upon eternal things.

It is of the greatest importance that mankind should not be ignorant in regard to the consequences of excess.
Temperance in all things is necessary to health and the development and growth of a good Christian character.

Those who transgress the laws of God in their physical organism will not be less slow to violate the law of God spoken from Sinai.

Those who will not, after the light has come to them, eat and drink from principle instead of being controlled by appetite, will not be interested in regard to being governed by principle, in other things.

Interesting, how no one seems to take God seriously, on this topic.

Mark
7:14 Then [Jesus] called the crowd again and said to them, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand.
7:15 There is nothing outside of a person that can defile him by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles him.”

Here, I'll paraphrase:

Jesus: it is not what you eat that makes you dirty, it is what you say.

If you still can't tell what that has to do with the topic, I'm not sure how else I can help you.

Are you using this to say that God made HIS health laws, to be of no importance ?

SS; health LAWs? Were they LAWS from God? Did He write them with 'his very own finger' on a slab of stone? Seems to me that we see much argument from your camp that His finger writing is the litmus test for 'salvation', so why the change now?

Hey guys, I think all the Silver Surfer is trying to say, is that our bodies are the temples of God, and we should take proper care of them. Honestly guys, I am overweight, but am working at changing that, because why tear something up that God gave you? This isn’t some big mystery or debate. The Bible states that our body is a temple of God. Don’t you want to take care of the temple?

At Christ's 2nd coming, for His Church, those who eat the forbidden food articles will be destroyed.

Isaiah 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
66:16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
66:17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one [tree] in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

God has established what man is to eat, and what not to eat.
The Book of Leviticus goes into detail, on that subject.

And, God has NEVER changed, regarding this subject.

The following Principle of God's is something men/women want to ignore or forget........
1 Corinthians 6:19 What ?
know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and [b]ye are not your own ?

6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. [/b]

So then, we should also be encouraged and look forward to the renewing of the sacrifices in the new temple as well?

You are suggesting SS, through your insistent anti-Gospel preaching, that the New Testament is of no value to Christians, that we should disregard what it says and adhere strictly to the OT and the covenant of works which it gives us.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.
Then, God goes into detail, as to what the 'sacrifice' consists of......
12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When, at the time Jesus Christ made the statement: 'Search the Scriptures".....which part of the Bible was He refering to ?

When, at the time Paul made the statement to Timothy.....
2 Tim. 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
QUESTION: Which scriptures were available to Timothy at that period of time ?

AND, was Salvation known in the OT ?

3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Verse 16 ...tells me that both the OT, as well as the NT are essential.
One cannot be ignored in favor of the other.

I do not disagree, however, by your very insistence in nearly every post you make, you absolutely disagree.

You consistently favor particular scripture over the other.

FFT posted this passage for consideration:

Mark 7:14-15 And He called the people to [Him] again and said to them, Listen to Me, all of you, and understand [what I say]. (15) There is not [even] one thing outside a man which by going into him can pollute and defile him; but the things which come out of a man are what defile him and make him unhallowed and unclean.

Yet you have ignored this passage in favor of the levitical laws concerning unclean foods. Why is that?

There is also the admonishment concerning the judgment by you and yours against others in respect to the Sabbaths which you blatantly ignore in your continued rants regarding your insistence on the unscriptural 'Saturday' sabbath.

Consider what Jesus said here:

Mark 7:1-9 NOW THERE gathered together to [Jesus] the Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem, (2) For they had seen that some of His disciples ate with common hands, that is, unwashed [with hands defiled and unhallowed, because they had not given them a ceremonial washing]-- (3) For the Pharisees and all of the Jews do not eat unless [merely for ceremonial reasons] they wash their hands [diligently up to the elbow] with clenched fist, adhering [carefully and faithfully] to the tradition of [practices and customs handed down to them by] their forefathers [to be observed]. (4) And [when they come] from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they purify themselves; and there are many other traditions [oral, man-made laws handed down to them, which they observe faithfully and diligently, such as], the washing of cups and wooden pitchers and widemouthed jugs and utensils of copper and beds-- (5) And the Pharisees and scribes kept asking [Jesus], Why do Your disciples not order their way of living according to the tradition handed down by the forefathers [to be observed], but eat with hands unwashed and ceremonially not purified? (6) But He said to them, Excellently and truly [so that there will be no room for blame] did Isaiah prophesy of you, the pretenders and hypocrites, as it stands written: These people [constantly] honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far distant from Me. (7) In vain (fruitlessly and without profit) do they worship Me, ordering and teaching [to be obeyed] as doctrines the commandments and precepts of men. [Isa. 29:13.] (8) You disregard and give up and ask to depart from you the commandment of God and cling to the tradition of men [keeping it carefully and faithfully]. (9) And He said to them, You have a fine way of rejecting [thus thwarting and nullifying and doing away with] the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition (your own human regulations)!

Yes, I can see where you might think that.
What I might have to do with you, is place both seemingly opposite scriptures, side by side, and then let you accept one, while rejecting the other.

Too bad nobody read the context !
Had they read a little further on....it would have explained.....

7:20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Because those verses in Mark 7...was NOT taliking about food.

The 7th day sabbath, is merely the sign of loyalty towards God, that's all it is.

It is the proof of whether a person is a True Christian or not.....as the Bible says so.

OK, show me where in the Bible that God commanded the washing of hands ?

The very context of those verses shows that that was a commandment of men, not God.

In what way does this context change the conclusion everyone else has drawn?

I don't know exactly chapter and verse, but I know somewhere in the Gospels Jesus says, "Do not worry about what you are to wear or eat. Consider the lillies in the field. God clothed them better than Solomn.." That's a very rough translations, but I don't think He wants us to dwell on the care of our physical bodies.
