Here's another article on fishing:

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/02/science/03fishcnd.html?bl&ex=1162616400&en=8e7132392e14b91f&ei=5087%0A

Basically, if we don't turn our ways around soon, there won't be any fish left in the sea by 2050 (at least not enough to feed us).

Here's another good one... This is Lake Chad. Because of global warming, it has been steadily evaporating. It used to be one of the world's biggest lakes. Now it's almost gone. Do you think that suddenly having no water is going to improve the lives of all the Africans living around there?

I suppose this is another tree-hugger lie...

Actually...I think it is...

I'm honestly not picking on you P#s Smile just took me a while to get back around to this..

Lake Chad isn't disappearing because of Global Warming and evaporation..

It is disappearing though...and you're right that it is manmade...but it's through use...probably overuse...

- Lake Chad is large in surface area, but shallow, only 20 feet or so on average (and dotted by islands and mudbanks). Most of its shorelines are made up of marshes.

- Some 90% of the lake’s water comes from the Chari River, which is increasingly used for fresh water and irrigation upstream.

- Over 20 million people now live around the Lake, which covers parts of 4 different countries.

- Twice before (1908 and 1984), it almost dried out.

- Overgrazing surrounding the lake, and subsequent decline in vegetation has caused extensive desertification.

So, it's a result of human prosperity and NOT Global Warming that the Lake is disappearing. One of 2 things will happen...a) better management (good luck with that in Africa) will maintain a "stable" level or b) people will migrate away (and later return once/if the lake can support human activity again)....

But whatever....it's the Boogie Man of Global Warming and my car is the cause

It's not an either / or situation... You're saying that global warming has *nothing* to do with its shrinking?

In any case, even if this is a bad example, just look at all of the shrinking glaciers all over the planet. Look at picture postcards from those nice little Swiss towns in the Alps from the 20s and compare them with the same pictures of today; it's clear that the glaciers have receded A LOT.

Virtually all of the experts agree that global warming is happening. When the experts agree on something, then we should listen.

Here is a documentary that you'll just love. It's new and it explains why global warming is a big hoax. Check it out:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4340135300469846467&q=great+global+warming+swindle

There's only one problem with it... The film-maker is a liar and a fraud, and he doctors his charts and explicitly lies in order to make his case...

He finds every single prominent global warming skeptic he can with scientific credentials, and interviews them all (all seven of them).

The rest of the scientific community was pretty pissed off about this documentary and says that the arguments in it are amateurish and that the guy really doesn't understand what he's talking about.

Oh yeah, and the producer used to be an active member of some radical communist group. I'm not trying to say that he was wrong about communism, so therefore he is wrong about global warming, but it does say something about his judgment.

So why is it that none of the Christians here are at all worried about global warming? It sounds like the Bible has told this story many times, and yet the Christians here seem to be part of the crowd that is doing the ignoring...

Shouldn't they know better? What's the point of reading the Bible if you don't apply it and learn from its lessons?

Hey P1, like Sodom and Gamorrah, "Christians" and everyone else, are too preoccupied with self-satiation.

We are too busy doing our thing.

In other words, being a Christian doesn't really help the average dude be a better person?
