Yeah, too bad the Apollo moon landings were faked, |
That's actually a popular view in much of the Mideast..
not the educated, but there is a much larger percentage of the population that is "under" literate...and djinn's, devils, etc, etc are still widely held to be "true"...as they were in America...150 years ago...

Is this actually true? Is there a specific Sura in the Koran which says that God lives on the moon? |
not sure about the Quran, but it is a tradition... per the tradition, Muhammed made a pilgrimage with Gabrial to Mecca, Jerusalem, Heaven and Hell shortly before his assention to heaven...
Early pre-Muslim religion in Northern Arabia worshiped a moon God, so I think that's where the tradition comes from...looking for sources and I'll touch back if I get more...
My source was a cultural brief from a naturalized American that grew up as a Maronite Christian in Lebanon (immigrating at age 17)... _________________ Links of note:"Review for Doubting Christians"

Sura 54 talks about the splitting of the moon being a sign of the end----some claim that the harvesting of moon rocks by the apollo team fulfills this prophesy.

Yeah, you can do that with prophesies in pretty much ALL religions. For example, lot of Christians think that we're in the 'End Times', and give the most ridiculous examples as arguments saying that certain prophesies in the Bible have been fulfilled. It's just plain silly; people really need to brush up on their quantum mechanics. _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."
