The traditions of a time when water covered the whole of the earth's surface are universal. Many races harbor the story of a world-wide flood some time during past ages. The Biblical story of Noah, the ark, and the flood is an invention of the Hebrew priesthood during the Babylonian captivity. There has never been a universal flood since life was established on Urantia. The only time the surface of the earth was completely covered by water was during those Archeozoic ages before the land had begun to appear.

Ha..see I guess it all depends on how you look at it.. Very Happy

From a spiritual point of view...
Why did God bring the flood upon all mankind? Because their works and thoughts were evil. So God destroyed their wickedness out of the earth.

Today and for the last 2000 years there has been a universal flood taking place on the face of the planet..
Baptism..LOL...people repent from their wickedness and they are submersed in water. At times there are whole towns being baptised like in the days of John the baptist. When the disciples were sent out into the world telling people to repent and be baptised..same thing happening today. Because we don't see a universal flood all happening within a 40 day time period we say it can't be so. But God's clock works a lot different from ours, and He's been flooding the earth and removing the wickedness from people off the earth for quite some time now...LOLOL...

There's low the road and the high road, and in order to understand both you have to have bouble vision..LOLOL..

that's how I understand the flood Colter.

Interesting Lone, this idea of spiritual symbolism in the flood story would sure explain a lot. The ancestor's of the ancient Chinese dynasties look at biblical history with amused skepticism when we try to tell them that they actually are descended from a 500 year old righteous Jew, the only righteous Jew on all the earth.

If I were allowed to write my own biography unchallenged it may appear miraculous as well! Wink

Tell me about yourself Lone, religion, philosophy and such, send a pm if you need to.

I found the ark, it was on the set of the upcoming sequel to Ben Almighty, Even Almighty staring:

Steve Carell ... Evan Baxter

Lauren Graham ... Evan's Wife

Jimmy Bennett ... Ryan Baxter

Johnny Simmons ... Dylan Baxter

Morgan Freeman ... God

Jonah Hill ... Eugene Tenanbaum

Wanda Sykes ... Rita

John Goodman ... Congressman Long

Ed Helms ... Ed Carson

John Michael Higgins

I was an extra in this one filmed here in Virginia, it should be a hoot!

The Ark

But don't tell anyone that I smuggled out a picture! Embarassed

HA!
Looks like it came through
the flood fairly well...LOL

I'm not anyone Colter.
Just a wanderer in this
awesome world of ours.
Filled with so much cool
stuff it's hard to put it
all in a nutshell.
I was born Catholic,
at 17ish I was Baptised
in the Southern Baptist church.
Attended off and on for a couple years.
Checked out some other local
churches to see what they were all about,
until one told me I had to sign
to become a member.
I didn't know God was taking
signatures..I thought it was hearts..
Anywho, got out of the church scene.
Never really was in it all that
much anyways.
Just picked up the bible now and
again because I always loved
prophecies and riddles and puzzles.
Then I just got real mad about
the way things were going in the world,
so I asked God to just help me
understand why things are the way they are.
This was the first forum I had ever been to.
And I came in under the law. All the physical
attributes had to be done because that's
what God said. After awhile I met others who
lifted my thoughts up to the spiritual realm
of thinking. I found new insights
by doing word searches and comparing
stories with other stories, just to
find out they're all the same story told
over again and again.
That's when it hit me.
History truly does repeat itself.
It's got to be a law like gravity or
something because things just keep
happening only different names
and faces and places.
But then I got to the point
where it was all spiritual no physical
and it just wasn't balancing right.
So I figured there's got to be a center line.
Like walking in the firmament
between heaven and earth.
That's where I am. Walking a fine
line between heaven and hell..LOL.
My Philosophy....Keep the golden rule.
Love God, Love your neighbours,
Do unto others, and keep
God's commandments.
It's really all the same thing
when you get down to the
nitty gritty. Try to live peacably
among all as much as possible.
And never let your faith be moved.
Faith can move mountains,
but a mountain can never
crush my faith.. Very Happy
There is wisdom and knowledge
buried under every nook and cranny,
don't look a gift horse in the mouth
because you don't like the color
of the horse. Keep your mind open
to new things that God is
making aware to mankind.
Just because it doesn't agree
with "religion" doesn't mean it
doesn't agree with God.
All good things come from
heaven above,
and all things evil we create ourselves.
So if we stop creating things
with our hands, and admire
those things God has created
with his hands,
we'd be in much better shape.

That about sums up me
in a nutshell Colter..LOL

God Bless

As long as people do not avoid the following taboo's, we can never find Pure Christianity as it was in the first century where Jesus Christ, the Shepherd, was leading His flock of "sheep" (chosen):

Jer 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

Prov 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

And instead truly TRUST GOD like "babes":

1 Joh 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Mat 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Mat 11:26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Peter, John, James, Paul and other Apostles were "babes" in the eyes of our Lord; so were they endowed with divine knowledge and wisdom.

Hi Lone,

Thanks so much for sharing your story. The Internet phenomenon is so fascinating, I had already gleaned some of those insights about you from reading your posts, it's cool how we meet friends on the net and extrapolate personality from the inner life.

I admire your courage in launching out upon the high seas of discovery, seeking God of yourself, for yourself and finding him. I think Jesus taught unity but not necessarily uniformity. He liberated mankind from the yoke of institutionalized religion however man being so afraid of the unknown is forever tying to contain God in the dead words of doctrine.

The real revelation of God to man is in the lives that we live. The measure of our insight into the Father is by the love that we have for others.

It's late here and I'm tired, I'll catch up with you tomorrow.

Thanks again

I just thought of something.. Idea oh oh.. Rolling Eyes

when Jesus sent the disciples out two by two to tell the people to repent and be baptised, I don't remember him telling them to bring them back here so we can have a party.. Confused or disgusted When the Apostles were going from house to house to break bread, they didn't all come together in one place, but the shepherds visited the flock rather than the flock all being in one place at one time.

ok pulling verses out of context..ready? here we go.. Rolling Eyes

Isa 5:8 Woe unto them that join house to house, [that] lay field to field, till [there be] no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!

Luk 10:7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

Act 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Act 20:20 [And] how I kept back nothing that was profitable [unto you], but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Ti 5:13 And withal they learn [to be] idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

So what part of "Go not from house to house" as stated in Luke are we not hearing in acts and timothy??

this is one of those treasure hunts..LOL..

If we are to preach the gospel to every creature, then if we don't go from house to house we might miss somebody... Confused or disgusted
So what's the moral of that story?

Very Happy

Hi Nobby,

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for fixing the picture.

That ark was built almost entirely out of Styrofoam blocks and wood veneer. When they were done they ground the whole thing up in a stump grinder.....as well as the fake houses they built. Shocked

Hi Lone,

Hummmm?, I know that it had at least two levels, on one was a ramp where they really did lead live animals two by two up the ramp and inside. The top level there was a place where the director and camera's were positioned for the scene that I was in.

In my part the a giant dam up in the mountains (digitally edited in) had just burst, we all see it and run through the mud up to the ramp of the ark. We cut the scene three times. Each retake these huge water trucks would come out and soak the whole place down and soak us down as well! The water was a welcomed relief considering we were in 100+ degree high noon heat!

Here is a link to the official Evan Almighty web site where you can see some of the pictures of the film released for the public.

I hope God would help us "untangle this religious knot" reconciling the differences of Christian sects and denominations on doctrines of salvation and spiritual perfection.

sandra3102,

Hi, Very Happy

Regarding these different "sects"

Matt 7:21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

Not everyone who claims to be a Christian is actually a Christian, or even acknowledged by Jesus as his own. Jesus calls such false Christians "workers of lawlessness"! We must follow the Bible in all aspects of our lives. If we do so we will know and do what his Fathers will is, thus we will truly belong to Jesus.

Later. Very Happy

PostPosted: Sat Apr 07, 2007 11:14 pm    Post subject: God is speaking in parables! Reply with quote

This is what “is written” as inspired word of God:

God is speaking in parables:

• Eze 20:49 Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?

Jesus Christ was prophesied to speak parables and dark sayings of old:

• Psa 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

“Man and woman/women” literally written must be a “parable or dark sayings of old” in the language of God. Thus, God does not recognize PHYSICAL gender in:

• Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, THERE IS NEITHER MALE NOR FEMALE: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Very clearly in the “language of God,” God is the “MAN” in the following being the HUSBAND:

• Isa 54:5 For thy MAKER is thine HUSBAND; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

If God is the SPIRITUAL husband, then His chosen BOTH MALE AND FEMALE are His SPIRITUAL wife or "WOMEN"! Then, “woman” in the following must be the PEOPLE!

• 1 Tim 2:11 Let the WOMAN learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a WOMAN to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Something to think about:

Because the PEOPLE are the spiritual WOMEN, they take the place of God, the MAN supposed to “teach” (reveal) the TRUTH in His words. As a result, Christianity is divided into sects and denominations, and each claims the “truth.”

This is clearly demonstrated during the time of CHRIST, where the Jews like the Christians today are in the same spiritual state.

PostPosted: Mon Apr 09, 2007 5:30 pm    Post subject: Human wisdom is the culprit Reply with quote

Alright Rev. JV. How could Christianity today be united on the TRUTH when the HOLY BIBLE is the sole basis for doctrines? I suppose the cause (culprit) is in the INTERPRETATION where the condemned HUMAN WISDOM takes the place of DIVINE REVELATION as Simon Peter clearly recognized JESUS:

• Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

• Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

• Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, BUT MY FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.

All Christian sects and denominations preach this. But did it really come from the “revelation of the Father” that to know JESUS already exempt from the following rebuke?

• Joh 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: IF YE HAD KNOWN ME, YE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN MY FATHER ALSO.

What do we hear from the “fathers of the church,” theologians, and Bible scholars, and preachers?

“THE INFINITE FATHER GOD IS INCAPABLE OF CLEAR IDENTIFICATION WITH THE FINITE MIND OF MAN.”
