I hope that you're right in two respects: firstly that they have a reformation, and secondly that Muslims start to jump ship afterwards.
I fear that religious zeal has a lot more to do with economic conditions than it does with the actual religion in question. Poor and desperate people necessarily flock to religion because it gives them some comfort in their unhappy lives. According to this theory, we won't be rid of Islamic fanatics until we raise their standard of living, and since the only way of doing that is to sacrifice our own, it's just not going to happen...

Christianity came up with its own version of this during the Crusades. Pope Urban II stated:

Martyrdom is when others kill you over some principle not when you kill yourself over some principle.
Kind of like indulgences with RCC, they guaranteed ahead of time some result. |
What I don't understand is what do Muslim female suicide bombers and murderers get out of this deal? Do they look forward to getting 72 virgins? Can someone kindly explain this one for me? |

I haven't really figured that one out either... perhaps they get to become one again or something...

I was watching a piece on the TV last night about radical Islam. They had some woman 'expert' saying something to the effect that the purpose of the Muslim woman is to serve Allah by having children, and to serve her husband.
Beyond that... there is no purpose for her life.

Yup, the entire Islamic world is completely and utterly sexist. Really, you could say that the entire third world is completely and utterly sexist. Granted, our society is also sexist, but not NEARLY to the same extent.
As for Islamic culture, just look at the whole 72 virgins thing... How outrageously sexist is that? Try and count the ways...
And what's up with the number 72? What kind of number is that? If they said 10 or 50 or 100 or 1 million or some other round number, then at least it would make some sense.
Why 72, and not, say, 59.3?
Apart from that, Mohammed lost my vote when he said that drinking camel urine is good for you.

You are not really justifying your disagreement here. When I say that the Islamic world is completely sexist (and it really, truly is), I'm not saying that EVERY SINGLE aspect in which they treat their women is inferior to ours.
I'm saying that when you look at the big picture, then women in Iran are considerably more oppressed by men than the women here. This is not debatable.
I have a good friend who is an Iranian woman, and she says that she won't go back to Iran ever again because they treat women so badly. She would MUCH rather live in the U.S. than in Iran (and she would rather live in Canada than in the U.S.).

It is odd that you mention this today P as last night on Fox News.. just in case you missed it  , they had an ex-Muslim women that talked about the absues of Islam towards women. You might want to tune in... they have had some pretty good spots on this subject as of late.
