Hi all-----------
In Daniel we are introduced to weeks of years with events to come at the end of each set.In Hebrew the word used for a week or a set of seven is shavuot or shavua.Daniel used a different word however,he used shavuim.Shavuim is the masculin plural of shavuot and requires a multiplier. It cannot stand as just a single seven. This works fine for the first 69 weeks-------1st we have seven weeks of years, seven shavuim and that works fine then we have 62 more weeks of years or 62 shavuim and that works just as well.We now come to the 70th week of years 1 shavuim, this wont work, shavuim is plural and must be more than just one seven.
Now lets look at something that looks very familiar to the divisions in Daniel--the levitical code and the year of jubilee. For those of you not familiar with the concept of jubilee it is the 50th year established as a year of sabbaths. It is also the year in which property is restored to its rightful owner or if the owner is dead to a kinsman redeemer(one of Christ's titles by the way).It was also the year in which slaves were set free.So in the levitical code we have a seven a group of sevens and then a unique year of jubilee.
I know that many of my Christian brethren take Daniel's 70th week and see it as a future tribulation period.I however see it as a jubilee.A progression of sabbaths that will span from the cross till Christ comes again. The time when OUR Kinsman Redeemer reclaims that which was lost for those who are dead in sin. This is the time when men are set free.

so that every day of that year is a sabbath day?
I though about this verse:
Deu 24:5 When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: [but] he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
just thinking..
God Bless

kind of sad when you think about it...
All of those service people we have in our military...many of them just getting married...
They don't have any time to even get to know their new spouse forget about cheer them up..
wouldn't it be good if this law was still active?
God Bless

By the way, the year before a Jubilee year is also a sabbath year, no agriculture, no crops. The people must save up for this period for a long time otherwise they will be very poor during this timeframe.
This is paid for by the third tithe by the way. It was used to pay for all those times when a family couldn't work but instead travel to Jerusalem, or during the sabbth/Jubilee years. _________________ My boss is a Jewish carpenter.

reminds me of Joseph and the seven ears of good corn...
And the seven ears of
seven ears..years...
Gen 41:22 And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:
Gen 41:23 And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, [and] blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:
Gen 41:24 And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told [this] unto the magicians; but [there was] none that could declare [it] to me.
Lev 26:34 Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye [be] in your enemies' land; [even] then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.
2Ch 36:21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: [for] as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
What do you suppose God was showing Joseph?
Lev 26:35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
Say what? it did not rest in "their sabbaths".
what then, they made up their own sabbaths?
I think instead of arguing about what day it is, we should start examining what it is.
that's just my opinion..
God Bless

70 weeks are determined....
[for] as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
Deu 16:9 Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from [such time as] thou beginnest [to put] the sickle to the corn.
lots of sevens that's for sure... _________________ Joh 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
