Very Happy

Amen to that! Hopefully we will have some respectable Democrat and Republican candidates emerge.

I'm not sure if he is worse than Hillary or O'Bamma (nasty smoker Rolling Eyes ).. or Edwards... et. al. Nothing on that side of the Isle... save Richardson... even looks remotely appealing.

The republicans ain't doing much better... Gulianni is unsat with his stance on abortion and gay marriage... McCain needs some type of counseling and therapy... and Romeny... well... I just don't know enough about him... other than he has flipped on a few issues.

We got 300 million folks in this country... there has to be someone...

I'm implying that I understand Plato's philosophy. Why do you ask?

I'm sure there are lots of people....but those people don't have the $ 300 million warchest needed to buy TV ads.... Crying or Very sad

From New York Times

WASHINGTON, Jan. 24 — As many as four big states — California, Florida, Illinois and New Jersey — are likely to move up their 2008 presidential primaries to early next February, further upending an already unsettled nominating process and forcing candidates of both parties to rethink their campaign strategies, party officials said Wednesday.....

The changes would appear to benefit well-financed and already familiar candidates and diminish the prospects of those with less money and name recognition going into such a highly compressed series of contests early next year....

For a position that pays $400,000 who could justify spending $100,000,000? The perks just don't add up. Seems like one of the worst jobs in the world being president, head aches, sleepless nights and lots of responsibility. It does pay well enough for me at least.

Seems like the time to force candidates to only use government money for their elections. Media to offer free time for election matters as part of their public responsibility. Of course that just wouldn't add up due to the freedom of speech issue, still...

Hillary is not using government money and how many others are choosing not to either. Avoids restrictions on fund raising doesn't it. Well the public is not served by all the hate ads and other B.S. that counts as election ads streaming into our homes. We need the truth about candidates positions and histories not swift boating the candidates lives.

Seems funny to me that the individually wealthy can use their personal fortunes to campaign for president and those of the dem party who usually rail against the rich of this country seem to have no problem with it.

We hear all the time about the 'rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer' and yet the 'people' would line up to elect the richest of our nation to the highest offices in our nation, so they can run our nation (usually campaigning with much of their own 'dirty money'), and then they continue to bemoan the problem of the rich getting richer and poor getting poorer...

What is that phrase FFT likes to use alot? Cognitive dissonance...

When we read Hebrews 11 we read of the "Faithful hall of fame", successful in the eyes of God. Not one of those people would ever be electable in America. Why?

They were just too radical, too driven by God's power not by corrupt lobby's money and frankly our electorate doesn't want people like that for government positions. We like the"middle of the roaders" who don't offend and can compromise. God's prophets never compromised!
