Whether you are for Roe vs Wade or not, how did you spend the 34th anniversary?
If you are pro-life, did you participate in any pro-life activities like the March for Life or did your own individual rallying?
If you are pro-choice, did you attend any candle light vigils, rallied with any groups, or did any individual activism?
If you are on the fence or in the center, did you do anything in particular or just shook your head at the whole thing? _________________ When do we stop learning? Maybe never |

I'm just going to sit around the house today, and remember why Roe vs. Wade was legalized. I might have my own candlelight vigil to commerate the annversary. I'm going to wear a sticker, a pin, and my bracelets that I got from PP last year as I do it.
I can't protest because I'm in Sweden...where abortion isn't even an issue, even if some Swedes want it to be illegalized. However, illegalizing abortion in Sweden would be political suicide as it's part of their universal healthcare system.
Most Swedish pro-lifers are a lot alike some pro-choicers from the state, like myself. They disagree with the choice of abortion and wouldn't have one personally, but they support it for women that seek it. There aren't any political parties here that want to ban it, but most people that want it to be banned are from the Christian Democrats (KD). However, the party doesn't want it to be banned. Just some of it's members. _________________ When do we stop learning? Maybe never |

I don't even know when it is and doubt I would pay much attention to it if I did. _________________ JP's Mind - my blog

I'm with RevJP on this one, I didn't even notice. _________________ When Science was in its crib, Religion tried to strangle it. When Science was in its infancy, Religion tried to abuse it. Now that Science is grown up, Religion wants to be in its good graces.

I didn't pay attention to the date of the anniversary until I became pro-choice, and even then I almost got the date wrong this year. I thought for some odd reason it was on the 23rd rather than the 22nd. _________________ When do we stop learning? Maybe never |

Most of the time there is drama, which is why I prefer to do my own activism independently. Although, last March, I did go to a EC rally in Annapolis that a lot of the Maryland pro-choice organizations put on and things were quiet as far as there wasn't anyone yelling at us or vice versa.
Last year on the 33rd anniversary, I did go by myself to rally in front of the Supreme Court for choice. All I did was just stand there with my sign and just hung out there for an hour silently. There were seven lifers with me doing a silent protest. They waved at me, I waved back. There were moments when there was one or two lifers going back and forth carrying a sign (which wasn't with this group...they were independent activists like moi). I would say a half hour to forty-five minutes, a whole bunch of pro-lifers marched past me. Not one word was exchanged.
I looked at them. They looked at me. They just marched passed me silently disagreeing with me while I stood there silently disagreeing with them. However, things were still peaceful. Around 5 pm, pro-choicers were arriving for a candlelight vigil that NOW was having. However, by then, I had stand out in the cold for an hour and I didn't want to freeze my butt off any further. I had come to do what I wanted, and I was done before the vigil had started.
I don't like conflict myself. I prefer to do things in a peaceful ways. I may disagree with my opponents, but I won't shout at them or anything. My personality is a peaceful and compromising one for the most part, and I've been abused in my past enough not to want to deal with more verbal abuse in the present time and future. _________________ When do we stop learning? I know this is a WAY old post, but I"m new here so forgive me
I didn't do anthing on the roe v. wade anniversary this year, but April 29th is National Pro-life day here and we had our pro-life t-shirts on. My teen age children wore them to public school and were very proud to do so
as for the Roe v. Wade history... I"m not sure if you know this, but the woman in that case who was Roe, her name is Norma Mc Corvey. And she has found NEW life in Christ in July 1995 ( Praise God!!)She became a new creation in Christ and has since then LEFT her job at the abortion clinic. She founded the " Roe No More" ministry in '97 ( it has since been re-named Crossing Over Minisrtry). The purpose of this ministry is to use her life experience to spread the truth, specifically shedding light on the lie behind Roe v. Wade
She is working hard to overturn Roe v. wade
God's plan...it's amazing...it's confusing...it's His will for our lives. ....wow
I thank God for Norma McCorvey...and I pray her message is heard by many. _________________ ____________________
