In The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren says that on judgement day we will be given a final exam consisting of two questions, God will ask us:
| Quote: | "What did you do with my Son, Jesus Christ?" God wont ask about your religious background or doctrinal views. The only thing that will matter is, did you accept what Jesus did for you and did you learn to love and trust Him?
Second, "What did you do with what I gave you?" What did you do with your life - all the gifts, talents, opportunities, energy, relationships, and resources God gave you? Did you spend them on yourself, or did you use them for the purposes God made you for? |

Did Rick Warren have an extra-biblical revelation? How can we accept this as so? _________________ The God of our Lord Jesus Christ give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the FULL knowledge of Him.--Eph 1:17 |

As usual, Rick is not far from the mark. Jesus indicates that only those that Jesus knew will be accepted, and not necessarily all those who claim to know Jesus.
To be a good steward of the our talent on loan from God, we must use our gifts, we must love God, love our fellow Christians and love the lost.
I have been invited to speak at jail, but as yet I have never done it. This does not bode well for me. I have visited jails, but only twice. I can say that I have visited homes and hospitals too numerious times to count, but sometimes perhaps because I was not walking in the Spirit as I should, I have not brought the comfort and love Christ expects of his servants.
Another perpective on this subject is gained by the question, what will it matter in 100 years? Only the things that impact on the kingdom. Will your family be there? Your friends? Will you? |

Rick Warren is a mega-church pastor in California. I have never attended Saddleback, but because Rick works very hard at being a Pastor's Pastor, I have heard (tapes) a series on Church growth. We used some of his principles and modified others and of course our Pastor and Eldership mainly implimented our own program that happen to match Rick's quite alot.
He has a website. |
