Donating Sperm

I didn't know where else to place this question, so I think it has most relevance here.

This question is specifically for Chrsitians, but I want the opinion of all (Christians aren't the only one's with a sense of morality and ethics).

Do you think it is immoral or unethical to donate sperm?

I know there is some passage that speaks about 'spilling seed', and that will have some relevance. But I think the majority of the relevance would be in the part of being a non-father father.

The reason I don't think this is a question limited to Christians is because I don't think that unbelievers would necessarily think this is wrong. I think some may think of it as a bad thing.

I confess though, when first asked the question my opinion was that I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I still haven't really changed my position, but am searching for an answer that is not just off the top of my head...

Humans are evil creatures, and anything that contributes to the overpopulation of the planet is unethical, so yes.

No, it isn't unethical all by itself, in my opinion.

Also, is it still spilling seed if you catch it? Wink
