Hello all. I was just wondering what your thoughts were on meditation (contemplation, centering prayer, etc) and if you do meditate, what kind of method or technique do you use?

Peace to you all.

Greetings,

When I think of meditation, I consider it a thought process on something.

As a Christian, I believe in the gift given to us by God, as the presence of the Holy Spirit that is to reside within us. The promise given by Jesus is that the comforter (Holy Spirit) is given to help us understand the truth.

Joh 16:13 But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won't draw attention to himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said. (Msg.)

I believe we should ask the question, where do our thoughts come from?

I believe they come from several different sources, first they come from ourselves, second they could come from the evil one (Satan), third listening to others and fourth from the Holy Spirit that lives within us.

2Co 10:5 casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;
2Co 10:6 and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience shall be fulfilled. (RV)

Making Godly choices is the situation that is important for us. Take each thought captive and analyze if it is true.

We are not alone, seek, ask and knock for the truth, and God will help us in understanding through His Holy Spirit.

Just a thought on meditation.

Love in Christ
Ron
