Hi Every One,

My curiosity led me to this forum and im here to seek some answers. First of all let me tell you im not a christian but want to know the words of God and trying to read them and understand. Hopefully, i will be welcomed here.

First of all i want to know what is the validity of these two books/chapters.

Leviticus
Deuteronomy

Do christians accept them as words of God. If yes than what do you think about these verses.

Leviticus 11:7

And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you.

Deuteronomy 14:8

The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.

As for your question...I'm not sure why you chose those specific passages...are you asking if it is a sin to eat pork?

I believe Leviticus and Deutoronomy were both books of Laws...some specific to the temple, but also alot of "thou shalt nots...."

For me, I don't see how any book (or anthology, which is what it really is) that took 1500 years to compile, was voted on by cardinals to determine its "sanctity" could be taken as "The Literal Word of God"....but then, that's me Smile
