Much to my shock, today I learned that in Toronto there is an entire religious public school system funded by the government...
So much for separation between church and state!
Check it out:

I wonder if they teach evolution...
So for all you people living in Utah who think that your school board isn't religious enough, come move to Canada! _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

But does Canada have a separation clause in their constitution? _________________ When Science was in its crib, Religion tried to strangle it. When Science was in its infancy, Religion tried to abuse it. Now that Science is grown up, Religion wants to be in its good graces.

Yes, but apparently schools are somehow exempt, and so are other 'faith-based' groups.
So I guess the answer is no; Canada might have something about separation between church and state in its constitution, but in practice it isn't properly implemented.
In some public schools the students are required to recite the Lord's Prayer! _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

They've got the same thing in Calgary.
edited to add:
According to THIS, BC was, until recently, the only province not to provide funding to denominational schools (now BC provides some funding to private schools and homeschoolers). _________________ Truth doesn't care about theology, and theology doesn't care about truth. |

To be fair, those students are there by their parents' choice. Non-Christians are still allowed to go to shcools where prayer is not required. _________________ Truth doesn't care about theology, and theology doesn't care about truth. |
