Good point TSS...probably the first time I've agreed with you in months, but on this, you're spot on _________________ Links of note:"Review for Doubting Christians"

I spent four years in Panama... worked extensively with the newly formed Police... not a pretty place to be...
However, I would add that the fishing was absolutely increditable! A bad day... and you can respect this... a bad day is 30 fish... seriously... 30 fish. Peacock bass fishing in the Canal is just crazy coooooool! _________________ Exodus 20:11 "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them..."

oh man that sounds like a blast!!!30 on a slow day....wow!...
the caribbean is my place of choice....except for the hurricanes ...
on the isle of spice...it doesn't really get above 88 or below 60 degrees. no need for heat or air....and wild mango trees(my favorite fruit) everywhere!!!...
but i must say...there is no place in the world like cuba...none can compare to the beauty of that country...or its beaches...but...
transportation is a hassle...as well as finding a sufficient amount of....toilet paper ....it sells on the street by the sheet ...for real...black market like drugs here... |

Luckily you don't have to go to the Caribbean anymore to enjoy hurricanes. Pretty soon we'll be getting them up in Canada...

Have you ever had fresh passionfruit juice? Now that's some really good stuff...

Not to mention that there isn't a toilet seat in the whole country!
I was in Cuba in February; we had a good time. It's too bad that you guys can't legally travel there! _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

I'll agree with you as long as you concede that Bush, Cheney and their entire cabinet need to resign immediately and that everyone who voted for them the second time needs to get slapped in the face... _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

yeah it is a shame...but we used to be able to...we just could not spend any money...and the hemmingway marina would give americans free slips while during the tampa to havana race just to keep them from getting in trouble when they got back...
but in feb of 2004...bush signed a declaration, in the name of the war on terror (for real), that any boat or ship registered in the u.s. or any foriegn one in u.s. that(check out this wording,it is not exact but relays the proper understand according to the attorney's) homeland security thinks may be used to go to cuba, can be confiscated on the spot.....the way the law is written if you are searched and have a chart or cruising guide of cuba on your vessel...or at a marina on your boat and they heard you say...someday, i'd like to go to cuba...thay can take your boat and there is nothing you can do about it...
but...fortunately i am one of the few sailors left in the world that does not need the use of a gps(those signals are monitored btw)...and the custom officials in havana won't stamp your passport if one is american so our gov won't know you have been there to keep one out of trouble...nice guys...i have been there several times myself, but not since the new law came into being...though it doesn't say you can't go...just that they will take your boat if they think you might ...how is that for freedom...no real evidence needed...just if they think it might be used to go to cuba...
i have an older friend that was infidel's...oops...i mean fidel's and the cuban gov. water skiing instructor in the 60's....he stole mr. castro's personal ski boat and came to america ...it is a hair raising story he has and one worth writing... |
