Hi zadock; welcome to the forum!
I once heard that Atlanta has some of the most massive highways in the world. Apparently they are 13 lanes wide EACH WAY at some points. Is this true? _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

Actually I've never really counted them but we do have quite a few lanes at some intervals on the highways. Talk about sitting in gridlock during rush hour. This city is exploding in population. Wonder why everyone is trying to move here? When I retire,I'm gonna run to the country where the living is easy and the burdens are light, LOL. |

Welcome, Zadok!
I dunno about Atlanta, but the I-5 (from Seattle to San Diego) has a few sections where there are 8 lanes in either direction. I've driven from one end to the other, and back. What's even more interesting is that in some parts of Seattle, the roads overlap - overpasses and underpasses. I counted a part where there were four overlapped roads above me and three below. Now that's nuts! I hope they don't ever have any serious earthquakes _________________ Truth doesn't care about theology, and theology doesn't care about truth. |

You all are out of control... I grew up in a county that had one traffic light... and it was one of those blinking ones. _________________ Exodus 20:11 "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them..."

In Seattle, it's only a matter of time before the 'Big One' hits...
I still remember all of the earthquake drills I had to do when I was a kid... _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

I wish I could move back to the country where they only have one traffic light. I grew up in a small country town and the population was only about 5000. But everything was so in-expensive. They don't pay me as much though as I am paid in city like Atlanta. I really do intend to return back to live in the country after I retire. The only reason I continue to live here in Atlanta is because of the money. I'm a nurse and I compared the pay for a nurse between Atlanta and the country and I'm telling you I thought they were kidding after what they offered me,LOL. |

Money ain't everything... and you generally spend what you make... Me, I prefer peace of mind... mainly peace, but peace of mind too. I plan on moving back to the fatherland (small country) here in a few years. By doing so, any job I take will result in a drastic reducition in income. And ya know... that is OK. Like I said... money ain't everything. _________________ Exodus 20:11 "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them..."

| Well you're right. But in this day and age, money holds a very importabt place. I'm just keeping it real by saying that. I have a big mortgage and the money that they would pay me in the country wouldn't even come close to paying my bills, lol. I have financial responsibilities and for me to accept less pay than what I'm worth is irresponsible in my opinion. I have an adopted son whose future I have to think about. By the time I get ready to retire, I will have stashed away enough so that I CAN MOVE BACK TO THE COUNTRY and not have financial worries. After all, God helps those that tries to help themselves. The parable of the talents comes to mind here for some reason, LOL. |
