Hi,

I've just recently become a Christian, sort of, LOL. I was raised in the Catholic church, but never really found my relationship with God until my divorce this summer. He can show up in the darkest times, can't he? Anyways, I've never studied the bible, but I want to start. The problem is, I have no clue where to start. Can I be added to a group that can help a novice like me?

Thanks,
Amy

Hi pinkmtngirl, I'm sorry I didn't see your post until just now! Pink, right at this we don't have a private bible study. I would like to have to have one, if I could stir enough interest in the members to start on again.
Seems all they want to do lately is debate! Very Happy

We do have a public Bible Study forum. You might try that for a while, to see if I can get a group to gether!

Welcome to our board. Glad to have you. Feel free to post on the board.
If you post in the Debate section, be prepared to back up what you say because you will be challenged! Very Happy Very Happy But there are plenty of other places you can post.
God Bless You,
Nobby

Hey Pink! I'm just beginning to study the Bible myself. I'm starting right from the beginning. I was raised Lutheran but stopped going to church when my family started working weekends and late evenings at that, so Sundays were pretty much out for all of us. I haven't attended church since my teens. I'm now forty-five years old. My sister is very involved in her church, and sometimes I get very perturbed with "organized" religion. It seems teachings are very selective, and I find in many instances a lot of hypocrisy among members and a lot of judgmental people, which drives me nuts. I decided to delve into the Bible myself and read what it means to me and not be spoon fed. I would be very interested in getting together with someone to discuss the Bible and what it means to each of us just to get a different perspective from someone else. I don't know if you're in the same place I am, but that's just a little background of where I'm coming from. If you're interested, let me know! Thanks! Phunk

I am actually looking for a study group as well. As I don't really know exactly how to start on my own.

Me either, MakeShift. I wouldn't know where to begin. But maybe if we get enough people together we could have at least discussion.

If you were to start a group, what topic would you like to discuss?

what's on your mind?

throw out some things that your thinking about then go from there.

just toss them out there...see what happens..

God Bless
Lone

Well I guess we could just begin with a book of the bible rather than a statement made in the bible...

maybe we could do so over msn...or I could make a seperate board and start a bible study group!

If anyones interested they can come to the board.

I have been a born again believer since I was five,
and I LOVE to study the Bible,

If we get a group going, count me in!

Guys, do you want to go to the public Bible Study, or do you want to go private. Just let me know if you want it private & give me the names you want. This way you pick your own members!
It's better that way. Very Happy Very Happy

Nobby,

What happened to the Bible study that was here a while ago w/RevJP leading? Did that disappear? I know I've been out of it for a while so I probably missed a whole lot.
