Ah the battle of the law.
From the very beginning of the great controversy in heaven it has been Satan's purpose to overthrow the law of God. It was to accomplish this that he entered upon his rebellion against the Creator, and though he was cast out of heaven he has continued the same warfare upon the earth. To deceive men, and thus lead them to transgress God's law, is the object which he has steadfastly pursued.....
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Quote:

Boy I've been on both sides of this so many times now it made my head spin.
Under the law, not under the law, if you sin your under the law, but I don't sin, I'm saved so I'm not under the law. The law is for the lawless and unrighteous ones, There is no law for those who are righteous and obey loving God and your fellow man.

How many times do we have to rock to and fro before the sea calms and we can see the clear Day?
As long as satan is alive....there will be...WAR.....against God's commandments, and the people who keep them out of love and loyalty towards God !
Quote:

The law was made to show man what sin is,

Is that not the reason man wants to do away with the Law.....beause it reveals his faults ?
Quote:

and if you sin then there is a penalty you will pay, whether it is physical or within your own self, you will know when you have done something wrong because it goes against the basic law of good that God set on the table.

If one is able to keep the entire law without making any mistakes physically or spiritually whatsover than that man is a perfect man and the law will never find you guilty because you haven't broken one iota of it.

Is onyone reading this absolutely perfect in everything they do. In all aspects of everything physically and spiritually?

Have you ever done a bad thing, have you ever thought a bad thing? Have you ever wished ill to someone even in the solitude of your heart?

If you have then you have broken the law and are and will be judged by it.
Your own conscience will tell you if what you did or said or thought was good or bad.

If you admit it to yourself and to whoever you have harmed whether in thought or deed, to God or to your fellow man, then God will forgive you and that other man aught to too. But whether that other person forgives you or not, by confessing to God your fault you have cleared your conscience from the bad thing or thought that you did.
But you will pay a penalty if in a physical way then by a physical penalty, and if in a spiritual way, then in a spiritual penalty..guilt, sorrow..etc

We are all guilty and under the law if it is broken whether by thought or deed, until that Day when we are all made perfect and stand before God, having been washed from all sin, and put through the fire of purification, and made as white as snow.

Until then if you do wrong admit it, face it, ask for forgiveness, accept it, and move on. Pray that you have learned by it and don't do it again.

And whatever you do that you do is good, be thankful that God has showed you how to perform and work his will in you, until that Day when He says Thou good and faithful servant, enter into the Kingdom of God.

If you keep the law in it's intended form, both physically and spiritually, but not too extreme on either end, then the law will keep you and everyone around you, fed, clothed, happy, and at peace.
If we take away the law in it's intended form, we end up with fighting and strife and division. One side leaning more on this or that side. causing none of the above good effects for everyone.
If we all go one way it will become too strict, and if we all go the other way then we become too lenient.

We need to learn how to read the law in the old testament and apply the spirit of it in the new testament and come out with an equal weight and just measure of the two.
And what you will find is God's perfect law and will for all mankind.

put any law on the table, whether it be from the old or the new, find it's counter part on the opposite side. Now look closely at both extremes and you will find the middle equal weight.

And somewhere in the bible this equal measure has been given. It is in either the old or the new.

This is the dividing of the truth. Both sides absolutely true to it's extreme.
But we are not perfect yet and must find what God has made perfect for man to follow in it. It is a growing process. We are not full grown, and we are not ignorant children, we have outgrown the milk, but are not mature enough yet for the meat. So in the meantime while we are alive on earth God has given us Bread..OT and Wine..NT to be eaten carefully and with all thanksgiving.

Too much of one thing will either make us too fat and drunk.
and too little will make us hungry and thirsty.

So put a little bread on your plate and put a little wine in your cup, and drink and eat with a deliberate intention of moderation and mingling.
Take out most of the leaven but not all,and take out most of the gnats but don't be too picky. Because the little leaven that you eat and the couple gnats that you swallow will end up going out in the draught.

But when you can remove the excess of either than do so, because it's the excess that will puff one up or make one too critical.

Find the truth within the extremes. and you will find a just weight and a just measure, which is pleasing to God and to men.

'to men ?

Not so !

The apostle Paul declares that "all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." 2 Timothy 3:12.

Why is it, then, that persecution seems in a great degree to slumber?

The only reason is that the church has conformed to the world's standard and therefore awakens no opposition.

The religion which is current in our day is not of the pure and holy character that marked the Christian faith in the days of Christ and His apostles.

It is only because of the spirit of compromise with sin, because the great truths of the word of God are so indifferently regarded, because there is so little vital godliness in the church, that Christianity is apparently so popular with the world.

Let there be a revival of the faith and power of the early church, and the spirit of persecution will be revived, and the fires of persecution will be rekindled.
