Mat 12:4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
Mar 2:26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
Luk 6:4 How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
how many were with David when he got the shewbread from the priests? |

Greets
the exact number is not known perhaps two mabe three and they were close servants of his.Since he was running from saul for his life he was not surrounded by a multitude as that of a king or prince or any of royalty.Instead he was now seen as an exile so out of the 5 loaves I take it perhaps lasting a few days couldnt have been many at all. |

I started this thread because I was mad about something. I saw it as a contradiction. In Samuel it says David came alone, but Jesus states that David gave to those who were with him.
I have a tendency to look on the outward apearance of things sometimes.
There's a lot of explanations...
Those that were with him could be explained as the very children in his loins which He had not fathered yet. It could mean those that came to minister to him as he was running from Saul.
I'm thinking the first one here.
1Ki 8:18 And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.
1Ki 8:19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.
might be kind of abstract but it helps me to understand it better.
Seeing the Holy Bread here:
Act 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
I just didn't look deep enough..
God Bless
