Change can happen fast in wonderful ways. One of the problems the creationist insist in the black box theory is that things like eyeballs cannot change insatantly since each part needs to be functionally interwoven with each other part. Well IMHO Chaos theory along with Catastrophy theory can explain these sudden and very complex changes that seem to happen over night (geologically speaking)

One of the problems with the Origin of the species is the reliance upon vast tracks of "undisturbed time" (which has never been available) to cause the change. But there never has been any smooth change curve in evolution it has been bits and starts, catastrophic changes over much shorter spans of time.

The new form of mathematics is now available to offer itself as a possible explanation that fits the evidence much more closely

Which is (and I hate to use the word) ignorant, as theoretical models based on types of eyes around today can show a progression from not-eyes to eyes.

I don't know why you would think that chaos theory is needed to explain the evolution of the eye. We know that the eye evolved in AT LEAST 50 independent ways, each time in baby-steps, just like everything else.

Are you talking about Behe's "Irreducible Complexity" Theory/Proposition?

Um... do you mean "Uniformitarianism"? (I might have misspelled that one… it is more than two syllables and I can get confused pretty quickly) Sad

Ah... um... Gould's "Punctuated Equilibrium" (Punk-eek)?

Which evidence and more closely than... what?
