Hi my name is Monique. I am 28 and live in the city of Detroit. Since the beginning of January, I 've been going to church, trying to get a closer relationship with God. I read my Bible, I have a prayer closet that I try to use every morning. I try to not complain about my life, even though I'am on welfare, unemployed, have bill collectors threatening to send me to jail, and trying to keep my utilities on. Just recently I think the Lord has been answering my prayers. My phone was due to be shut off yesterday, and I've been praying ever since I got the shut off notice, and this morning it was still on. So, I believe that was God. I have to admit, I stress on different things, like my relationship with my daughters father my employment situation, but I'm trying to have faith and pray about everything that comes my way. I just hope it works.

Hi Monique,
You are more than welcome to our group! Please make yourself at home here. There are many here that I know be anxious to express their views & word of hope from the bible.
You said you were attending church, have you spoken with your pastor yet? He could be a great help!
When one is in need, never take the word of prayer to lightly,because He will provide. Smile Smile

Hi Monique, Welcome. I lived in Michigan for quite a long time, and I'll try to remember some of the things I did, when I was in your situation. I too was on welfare, unemployed, and trying to just keep utilities on. I was fortunate in my situation, to not have children to also have to worry about how to take care of and keep safe and sound.

God is with you in this, and He does indeed answer our prayers.

I will do some research, and try to remember just who all, and what organizations are available in Michigan to help you.

Monique,

Hi and yes welcome. I grew up in Michigan, a small town outside of Flint called Clio.
I am going up to visit my Grandmother the end of May.
I still have alot of friends and family there.

I can empathize with your situation, as I have been there in the past.
I will certainly pray for you. Keep the faith and the Lord will care for you. It can be scary at times but he will.

Again welcome and I think that you will find alot of encouragement on the discussion board.
