Thanks for sharing these facts about the Magnificat in D. And now an interesting fact about the Magnificat...during the Marcos years in the Philippines it was illegal to pray the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55). The words, "He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty" were considered subversive. |
