Hi all,
Just a note. I was disappointed to see the "debate" that was going on within this board. This board is meant to be a discussion place for fellow Christians, not a debate forum.

If you would like debate, please visit www.Christian-Viewpoints.com www.ProChoiceTalk.com

I would like to see this be a place for fellow Christians to support each other, not be stuck in an endless debate loop with people that aren't Christian.

Then perhaps you need to change the name of this board to 'Christians Only Forum' or 'Discusisons among Christians Only'. As it stands now, 'Bible Discussion' is completely contradictory to what you want this forum to be.

Then THEY need to go to Christian-Viewpoints.com. This is Bible-DISCUSSION, not 'Christian Support Center'.

Furthermore, this forum is about the Bible. Debates here have no business in the Abortion forum (prochoicetalk.com).

If you don't like the debating then either change this forums to 'Christians Only' or direct them to 'Christian Viewpoints' if you want Christians to get support from other Christians!

Yes you, and probably 90% of your members!
you have about 3 or 4 members rip tearing
these forums all to pieces!
I came here to share the bible with fellow Christians. Not to have my every word questioned by someone,that don't even believe in God!
I tried to talk to one, only to be, made fun of and told how dumb I was!
Now Him and some of his friends are in the books tring to ruin them for everybody!

Your the only one that can make this happen.
Things don't change Christian people will start leaving.
I would like to post without being made fun of! I'm sure I not the only one.
I'm sticking my neck out again but, is there anyone that agrees with me!

I'm Very New here, BUT I have done alot of reading, and yes NOBBY I agree with you whole heartly. I have alot of questions I would like to ask but being a young christian, I'm afraid of who will respone to my post. I don't need any negative input.

If you can't handle the negative input, constructive criticism and any other contradictory responses then you really aren't going to learn anything!

To Nobby and Herb:

This is a great place to discuss and ask questions of other Christians. I am sorry that you have both been hurt, but if you quit, or allow negativity to derail your desire to grow, you will be the loser not the one doing the discouraging.

In this world, as a Christian, you will face some opposition to your faith. Look at the early Christian Church as they really had it bad. If we only have negativity to deal with, hey, we are doing really excellent, aren't we? I believe that questioning and some negativity helps one to grow and it can makes you stronger, if you are wise in understanding that truth. Opposition requires that you know what and why you believe what you do. That may not seem valid to you now, but it will be in the future, because you will study and be more affirmed in your faith and not only that but in the 'why's of your faith. Do you understand what I am trying to communicate, rather poorly I fear? So do not be upset by crummy comments. Become more determined to know and place the importance that is due on such comments. In other words, no response is many times appropriate and a really good idea. Afterall, if you do not respond back, in anger or by being upset, you win.

And, to Herb... I have been a Christian for a long time. My father was a minister (he is deceased) and my father-in-law is also. If you want to talk privately to ask questions, I can not promise that I would have the answers, but I would welcome studying with you or helping you in any way. You can direct your questions or comments to me by using this site, or you can look at my profile and send it that way.

Again, do not allow anyone to deter your desire to know. Wisdom in life comes from having knowledge and by applying it in the right ways. So, do not be discouraged, be determined. That is what God would want of you both.

I hear what you are saying, and I agree!
There is nothing wrong about being negative at times, Belivers don't believe each other on every thing, or there would only be one denomination!
But on most things we agree!

Non-believers will seldom agree on anything
that has anything to do with God,Jesus or the Holy Spirit!
Can't you have a negative attitude & disagree, without attacking and running down ones personal character? I think so!
Besides that I was only quoting the adminestrater as to where this type of discussion is to be hashed out!
On the Bible Discussion forum only!

Hi Nobby,
Originally Magnum PI was posting a lot of debate threads on our site and I asked him to stop. His point was that this was a bible-discussion site, not a site for Christians only. He said that if it was for Christians only then I should label it like that.

After careful thought I found that I agreed with him, and also agreed to let free speech roam on this board.

Magnum PI and other hard core debaters that are not necessarily Christians provide a very valuable service: They make us consolidate our thoughts and present them as clearly as we can. That, I think, is actually a very valuable gift that he gives us, albeit sometimes through a path of embarassment and pain.

I hope that clears things up a bit, and also sheds some light as to why we don't censor posts or members.
