As far as I know, the Bible consists of 66 books, with about 40 authors. The reason why other Books were rejected is primarily is because there was no mention of Jesus Christ. For example Maccobes, Catholics get the idea that we pray to or for the dead. I once talked to a Priest, annd he said that the Pauline epistles were mere Philosphy. this is one of the reasons I left the Catholic Church. There are many things in their thelogy that to me are unbilical.

Do we have proof that any of the Apostles ordered a canon of the scriptures. If not - why not? Should we rely on some men that got together and passed judgement on whether something was inspired or not?
For example, many consider Eusebius a church historian and he wrote:
III.16: CLEMENT (Bishop [?] of Rome, ca. 92-98) has left us one recognized Epistle, long and wonderful, which he composed in the name of the church at Rome and sent to the church at Corinth, where dissension had recently occurred. I have evidence that in many churches this epistle was read aloud in to the assembled worshippers in early days, as it is in our own. That it was in Clement's time that the dissension at Corinth broke out is plain from the testimony of Hegesippus.

More importantly, I am not saying this from a Christian perspective of "I have the power of Jesus and Satan is powerless". No. The power "satan" is given is the power people give Satan in your minds. Satan is very much a human creation, a psychological being to fight.
So when I hear people say they are fighting Satan but Satan's grip is too powerful, etc - I take this very much as a statement that they are fighting within themselves - and THAT scares me. It is a sure sign of some scary psychological things going on.
There's an old saying that a tug of war cannot exist when one side lets go of the rope.
So some might say "See, Satan has a hold of you because you say he does not exist - that is Satan's greatest trick on mankind" - and then they REALLY freak out.
What is Satan to me? I have seen people hooked on speed - they get crazy and become different people - when I look in their eyes I see what people call Satan. They are indeed fighting demons, demons they have created.
Now the basis for these thoughts is not biblical, it is rational. Nonetheless, the "satanic bible" is powerless. If someone actually read it and felt they were overcome with demons, well....they would have done something like that anyway through a different venue. I think a more expedient approach would be to get this person some real psychological help, seriously, so they can weed through the mess. |

And in your first post on this subject you said the satanic bible weighed as much as a spiderman comic book. wrong. it weighs more. apparently you got a cheap rip off.oh and by the way in your sixth paragraph you said What is satan to me? you didnt answer that question and as a satanist i would like to here what satan is to you before someone deletes this post. |
Its true that the Satanic Bible was written by human beings and is no more true than all other books dreamed and written by men and women.
The Bibles we have today are simply all that remains after Satan published a sequal to the original that God made; however, God works in mysterious ways so instead of fixing this he simply riddled Satan's version of the Bible with errors and contradictions so rational people would know it to be false instantly. King James, after becoming king through a pact with Satan tried to edit this unholy work and make it less crazy, sadly for Satan, he failed. It is still crazy, but much like reality TV shows.
Bad writing doesn't seem to repel viewers.
This post is true because I wrote it and you read it; think about it
I was confirmed in the Lutheran church and writings of Martin Luther were very much encouraged to digest. One thing Martin Luther said is that we should study **the opposite** of what we believe, then in the end what we are left with is truth. Made sense to me. So I ordered a Satanic Bible to study what I thought was the opposite of what I believed.

Excellent!
Thank you, Beloved Admin!
We have to love the opposites of what we believe in, with ONE exception, in order to have the whole Love by which to understand all of what we do believe in since what we do believe in includes its opposite!
The only problem in the Satanic Bible is therefore anyone who reads it with the sin of Hate for God, the enemy of Satan, and opposites or enemies.
There is a satanic Golden Rule and all GRs are based on Love for opposites or enemies:
matthew 22;36-40 and 7:12.
The Nine Satanic Statements:
"4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!
"5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek.!" 1
The Nine Satanic Sins: Satanists must strive to apply the dictum of
'Do unto others as they do unto you.'
It works for most of us and requires constant vigilance lest you slip into a comfortable illusion of everyone being like you...."
If Satanists loved their enemies, they wd be just as good as Godists who love God and Satan, and love their friends and their enemies as the Godist Bible commands us to do.
Matthew 5:43-48.
The only problem Godists or theists or Xtians have with the Godly Bible is also when we disobey God and hate our enemy and opposite: Satan!
Matthew 5;43-48.
1 Peter 5:8-8.
Genesis 3:15.
in Godly Love of all opposites or enemies, for God and for Satan,

The only thing that really bothers me about the satanic bible or satanic worship is more and more it is geared toward young children. Check out some of the websites.
One that I went to gave this flowery speech about how satan loves his children, while Jesus was barbaric. Jesus was all about blood and sacrifice, while satan was all about surrounding his children with love all they desired. There is a separate forum for teenages 12- 17.
Sorry, but this does scare me. |

Xi,
Our young kids wd easily reject satan's ideas and their friends' wrong examples if we taught them to love their opposites and enemies....at home.
Satan can't convince our kids to hate if we teach them to love. 1 john 4:18: Perfect Love for the perfect and imperfect casts out imperfect Hatred for the imperfect and so also casts out fear in Hate---while retaining fear in Love: Prov 1:7: the beginning of wisdom.
One bad apple spoils the bunch only when the bunch was already going bad: other kids can only badly influence our kids when our kids are already going bad.
in the certainty of the Shield of Love's ability to ward off and defend and protect all in Love,

atoz, I don't think you are on the right track. It is those of the faith that have the bigger battle for we are teaching our children and peers things which are contrary to human nature. Satan has the inside track here because he is offering what the kids think they want, while the faithful offer hope for an eternal life with God and a love that is not truly manifested in carnal terms.
God doesn't offer bling... |

I, too, have read the Satanic Bible. It is my understanding that, instead of regarding a literal Satan/Lucifer, it is based on strict nihilism and focusing on material life, without regard for consequences in the hereafter. It strictly forbids sacrifice and the like. The "calls" as they appear are merely an adaptation of John Dee's "Enochian Calls" which were, according to Dee and Kelly, divinely inspired. The rest is a modified form of classic "sympathetic magick", very similar to that found in Voodoo, shamanism, and Wicca. The main difference from these other systems is that it does so without regard for karma or consequence. The so-called Satanic aesthetic it uses is merely a lure to those who are pre-disposed to rebellion. After this, the similarities largely end.
The Gnostics feel that the vengeful, bloody, Old Testament God was, in fact, the Demiurge. The supreme fallen angel, who posited that it be "better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven." Reading "Paradise Lost", "Gargantua and Pantagruel" by Rabelais, and the various scriptures of the Nag Hammadi can be at least somewhat enlightening in this regard. I also recommend reading some of the various Rosicrucian documents with an open mind. YMMV.
I feel that both Christ and Lucifer are not literal beings, but aspects of our own personalities that we have to come to terms with. In order to ascend, we must become Christ-like. If we submit to our pride, our egos, we become like Lucifer, and will remain here, in the material universe. These things in the Bible are given to us as personal spiritual guides, not rote history lessons to be spouted off to justify this or that.
We all have our personal demons. These usually get suppressed, because we are afraid of them and what they might do. But, they are part of us, and there's no getting rid of them. Life gives us these experiences, and it's up to us to integrate them into our psyches, not shove them into the oubliette of the subconscious. Left there, they gain power over us. Dealt with and reconciled through Will, they fall in line and we become healthier and stronger for it.
Humans are rebellious by nature. Our pride wants us to be individual, separate in some way... better than "them". This is our Lucifer nature. Most of us, thankfully, try to keep it in check. However, make something forbidden, and people clamor to it. Rules and laws create self-fulfilling problems with the very activities they try to restrict (just take a look at Prohibition... more people drank than ever, or the so-called "War on Drugs"). By taking away a taboo status, it suddenly becomes no big deal. When things such as sexual morality and what-not get rules applied, we end up with rapists and child-molesters. Suppression creates problems. Rules, commandments, laws... these are merely about control, and making sure that we each have this enormous repressive guilt complex to keep us barely above sane daily function. We should simply try to follow the Golden Rule, and worry less about all the labeling, division, classification of who's right and who's wrong in this world, take away the concept of "us and them".
Pride and Dogma divide. That's just what Machiavelli taught. |

Those who would rebel against truth, have a fairly easy and wide path to follow. There is only one book of truth, whereas there are countless alternate books, paths, and views.
When lack of truth in these alternates becomes apparent, I don't think it wise to throw out the baby with the bath water, so to speak.....which is what I see this thread suggesting. |
