Imagine yourself in a courtroom. God is the judge, and you are standing before Him. In the presense of His holiness, you are overwhelmed by a relentless consciousness of your sin. God's voice thunders out, I know you are guilty. You tremble before the holy and righteous Judge, knowing you deserve the sentence of death. Then God contiinues, you are guilty, but I declare you righteous. Your punishment is waived.

That is called justification. God gives you a new legal standing. Your slate is clean. God declares you righteous because of what Jesus has done.

God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3:25-26.

The shed blood of Jesus saves us from the wrath of a holy God poured out against sin. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through Him. Romans 5:9

A comparison between forgiveness and justification: In forgiveness we are stripped of the vile and stinking rags of our sins; in justification we are clothed upon with the glory and beauty of Christ.

Oh how suitable a subject for me. I will have to appear in court soon. My Faith is wavering because I have never broken the law before. I could be fined $1000 and or 90 days jail. What a jolt. I don't like the impending court appearance, but I need to face the charges. I didn't know I was even breaking the Law. I was just on my way home from work, when Wham! It happened. I was just on my first day of work in 2 months. I was grateful to God for what I had, and prayed for his guidance and for the Truth to be my guide.
What a drastic Truth to be revealed that your license is suspended! I am glad to now know that, but my car is in impound, and I am in a heap of trouble. The truth hurts. I hope to resolve this incident with God's mercy and peace. I feel like my Honor has been stripped unfairly. This is embarrassing, but I am humbled and looking forward to grow from this experience.
May this never happen again. I will be more direct in how I phrase my prayers also. After all, this incident is a direct answer to my prayer.
May God intervene for me and save me.
