Requiem, yes Matt 25, is very good. I'm sure there are others when I get time I'll try to look for some.

Matt'25:1-2 wrote:
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were foolish, and five were wise.

Who do you say the 5 foolish & 5 wise virgins are? Smile

Is it possible the virgins were symbolic of the 5 senses (sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell) or the 5 skandas (form, feeling, concept, conciousness, perception)? That one group of 5 (ie one person) used theirs wisely, and one group of the 5 used theirs foolishly? I don't know the rest of the scripture though, it just occured to me that it may be symbolic of one of those.

interesting..... but having faith in HIS word and promised return, is really the focus of the parable.

believe HE is coming back because HE said so, and be prepared for it.

to me, anyway. jim.

This seems to be a reference to Revelation 21:2, 10, where it says "the holy city, New Jerusalem," the Lamb's bride, 'comes down from heaven.'

Of course, this is not a literal city, nor does it literally come down from heaven. Further, it doesn't occupy a place in Israel becasue Israel isn't big enough to accomodate it, being some 1,380 miles in perimeter. (21:16) This city together with Christ constitutes God's kingdom of the 144,000 members of spiritual Israel. (21:12, 13) It is the "new heavens."--21:1; Matthew 6:10.

The Bible tells us how it comes down in 21:3-5. Just as Jesus will never come to earth again, neither will the 144,000.--John 14:19; 1 Thessalonians 4:17.

Regards,

Stokey.

The bride of Christ (2 Cor.11:2 below), His wife (Re.19:7-8 below) ARE the entire church of God throughout all ages (1 Cor.10:32, Gal.1:3 below).

The entire body of Christ are in heaven at the Seventh Trumpet (Thess.4:16-17 below).

The marriage of the Lamb occurs in heaven as Mystery Babylon falls on earth (Re.19:2-3).

The marriage of the Lamb has taken place at Revelation 19:7 (below), and His wife prepares herself (Re.19:8 below) to join the Lamb and are the armies that follow Him to the battle of Armageddon (Re.19:14).

After the Millennium, in the “new earth”, that “great city, the holy Jerusalem”, descending out of heaven from God (Re.21:10 below), is prepared as a bride adorned for her husband (Re.21:2 below) because the saints of the most High (the Lamb’s wife) are in the city (Dan.7:18, Dan.7:22 below).

2 Cor.11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you (the church of God - 1 Cor.10:32, Gal.1:13 below) to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ (Re.19:7-8 below).

1 Cor.10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God (Gal.1:13 below):

Gal.1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God (1 Cor.10:32 above), and wasted it:

1 Th.4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1 Th.4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Re.19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Re.19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints (the church of God - 1 Cor.10:32, Gal.1:13 below).

Re.21:2 And I John saw the holy city, NEW Jerusalem (Re.21:10 below), coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Re.21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife (Re.19:7-8 above).

Re.21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God (Re.21:2 above),

Dan.7:18 But the saints of the most High (Re.15:3) shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom (Dan.7:22 below, Re.21:2 above) FOR EVER, EVEN FOR EVER AND EVER.

Dan.7:22 Until the Ancient of days came (Dan.7:13), and judgment was given to the saints of the most High (1 Cor.6:2-3); and THE TIME CAME THAT THE SAINTS POSSESSED THE KINGDOM (Dan.7:18 above).
