Well, considering Jerusalem is aprox 3850ft higher in elevation compared to the River Jordan, it's bound to be colder in Jerusalem than at the river.
I gave you the temperatures for the water of the river, and the top layer (upper 35 meters, or 115ft) of the dead sea in my latest post.
The lake is fed by the Jordan River and a number of small streams; it has no outlet. Because it is located in a very hot and dry region, the Dead Sea loses much water through evaporation; its level fluctuates during the year.
Bet She'an, a town situated at the northern part of River Jordan, has a year round temperature of about 28°C (82,4°F).

Thanks for the info Fake.
I found some additional info regarding the rainfall.
The rainy season extends from October to early May, and rainfall peaks in December through February. Rainfall varies considerably by regions from the North to the South. Highest rainfall is observed in the North and center parts of the country and decreases in the southern part of Israel, from the Negev Desert to Eilat where rainfall is negligible.
Heavy snow falls only in the northernmost part of Golan Heights where the Mount Hermon summit (2,224 m above sea level) remains generally snow covered from December to March. In other parts of the country snow is observed rarely.
The city of Eilat, located at the southernmost point of Israel and at the northern tip of Red Sea, has a good climate for beach holidays all year round.
So it appears some places in Isreal remain relatively warm.Other places do cool down. _________________ Agape,

Mojo,
I found in a chart that shows the first 7 weeks,or 49 years, was the amount of time until Jerusalem was rebuilt. The remaining 62 weeks,or 434 years,is after Jerusalem was rebuilt.Nothing necessarily conclusive, but something to think about.
Agape,

Thanx, Tbax. One stray thought I had was to wonder if the 70 weeks were consecutive. Just a thought, though.

Mojo,
Is there anything in that prophesy that would make you think that? _________________ Agape,

Not really. It's just that I like to examine every possibility. The 7 weeks being seperated have significance because of that distinction. I tend to approach all numbers given in the bible with the assumption they can be interpretated on more than one level. For instance, we take an educated guess that the 70 weeks means one week = 7 years. Even if the 7 years is applicable on one level, is there any reason why it also can't be one week = 70 years on a broader scale.
This is how I've found the numbers to work in my experience. In one sense then, one hour, one day, one week, one month or one year all mean basically the same thing. One day is 1000 years and 1000 years is a day unto the Lord.
In looking at the 70 weeks, I'm looking beyond the literal events. Jesus' time in the flesh was also a prophecy. He was a prophet, implying future fulfillment. Just looking for the broader interpretations.
I work with the numbers alot. I seem drawn to them and have made many discoveries. Whether they're right is another matter.
