Zephaniah 3:2
She obeys no one, she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the LORD, she does not draw near to her God.
Hebrews 7:18
The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless 19(for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
Matthew 22
The Greatest Commandment
34Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[Deut. 6:5 ] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[Lev. 19:18 ] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
There was a woman married to a man who had all these rules. If she didn't do all that was on the list that was for her to do. He would be upset with her.
Then one day her husband died. A couple of years later she got remarried..
Thier honeymoon was over and He was going to work, and His wife ask for the list of things for her to do. The man said I have no list, do what you do out of love for me. As I do the things I do out of love for you. The woman said my ex-husband gave me a list.
He said, he's dead you are married to me now, and He kissed her check as He went to work.
If you love God you will know what to do for Him with no list at all. Love requires more than any list can give. _________________ May God bless you and keep you through Jesus Christ.

My wife and I agreed soon after the wedding that she would make all of the minor and least important decisions while I would make the major and most important ones.
So far, there have been no major decisions to make.

They actually do make all the decisions. The best one's make all the decisions and get the man to think it was their's. _________________ May God bless you and keep you through Jesus Christ.

Great post, Psalm. In those two commandments the law was fulfilled.
If you choose to love God first & foremost in your life, you would not WANT to put anything else above Him
If you choose to love your neighbor, you would not WANT to murder him, steal from him, etc.
Yep, those two commandments sum everything else up rather nicely.
ETA: I'm rather good at making my husband believe he's making the decisions. (just kidding) _________________ Don't get caught in the trap of thinking you know everything God has to say b/c you've read the Bible. Remember, God is STILL speaking. And surprisingly, through people we DON'T expect. |
