| If one honestly considers the times the Christian gentiles lived in which the Jerusalem counsel made the decision for the gentiles to abstain from blood, one will understand the apostles were not refering to modern day blood transfusions at all, but blood used in sacrifices to false gods. The Greeks had many gods as did the Romans. The WTS takes the words of the apostles so out of context that the true meaning is never even mentioned. Oddly enough, early Jehovah Witnesses were at one time permitted to have and give blood transfusions. It was not until long after Charles Russel's death did this all change. The WTS called this "new light", but in truth it was a new teaching brought about about by a small group of men in the "governing council" in the late 30's. |

Why does everyone dance around the subject.Jehovah holds blood as sacred and want us to view it the same way.Predating the mosiac law God told Noah that he could eat meat but not blood in any circumstances.
Notice what the 1st century governing body said when they were discussing if men should be circumsized.This is their conclusion.
Acts 15:20 but to write them to abstain from things polluted by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood.
Acts 15:28 For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to YOU, except these necessary things, 29 to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication
THEY ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT OBEYING THE MOSIAC LAW ABOUT WHAT IS CLEAN.THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT WHAT CHRISTIANS NEED TO DO.
ABSTAIN DOES NOT JUST MEAN "DON'T EAT".JUST BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS IN THE 1ST CENTURY DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT WE NEED TO ABSTAIN FROM BLOOD.
DON'T YOU THINK FLEE FROM FORNICATION WOULD INCLUDE PORNOGRAPHY,EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T INVENTED YET?
The Bible is clear.The question is why are you willing to break what God, through the 1st century governing body,commanded us? |
