Verse 1: A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a Woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of 12 stars on her head.
The symbols in this first sign take us back to the old Testament to one of the dreams of Joseph. Joseph's Father, a man named Jacob interpreted the dream like this: the sun represented himself (Jacob, whose name was later changed to Israel), the moon represented his wife (whose name was Rachel), and the crown of 12 stars represented their children (the 12 tribes of Israel). This was the beginning of the nation of Israel. Notice that the 3 symbols in Josdeph's dream (the sun, moon, and 12 stars) all are associated wiith this woman in Chapter 12. This woman represents the nation of Israel at its beginning.

Golf jack
i see you like this stuff, pulling out verses as you do makes me believe you are an avid thinker of end-times.
However, i have seen your posts elsewhere, and i'm concerned about your literal slant and the magical way you believe things will take place. Just a comment, no offense.
Here for eg, pulling out this verse from Revelation, yes, may have that tie to it from the OT and that is interesting to pull the correlation, but there are other significant ties to that verse, that tie the son with the final 'parade' let's say for the use of a fun word.
Stirring up the pot here jack!
Do you like a little spice in yor broth?

David, I believe just about everyone is interested in the future. The Magical ways are God's ways. Jesus is the way, truth, and life. If one takes the Bible spiritually, How is one ever to know God? Spiritualizing can lead to a false teaching, like Preterests, mind thought religion, humanism, and to many false religions, like Mormans, JW's, Muslims, Universelist//universelism, and many other false religions.
