What is an acceptable fast to the Lord?

How is it done?

And what does it mean?

Hows this LoneStar Very Happy

Isaiah 58:6 [Is] not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Pharisees laid burdens on others, the Yoke of Moses through the power of Christ is broken

Isaiah 58:7 [Is it] not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

Isaiah 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

Sounds good to me The glory of the Lord being Christ in us is our reward

Isaiah 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I [am]. IF thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the ((((( putting forth of the finger)))) and ((( speaking vanity)))= Judging others

Isaiah 58:10 And [if] thou draw out thy SOUL TO THE HUNGRY, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness [be] as the noonday:

Light rises in you.

Isaiah 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose WATERS FAIL NOT.

Isaiah 58:12 And [they that shall be] of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The (((repairer of the breach))) The (((( restorer of paths to dwell in)))

Isaiah 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, [from] doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and SHALT HONOUR HIM, not doing ((( thine own ways))) nor finding ((( thine own pleasure))) nor (((( speaking [thine own] words)))

Isaiah 58:14 THEN shalt thou (((( delight thyself in the LORD))) and I will ((( cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth)))) and (((( feed thee))) with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].

I'm going to redit in Lone, but heres the place to start, what the Lord desires of us.

In Him

I see it so far as something we do in ourselves.

sometimes I think we just need to be quiet and heal and listen.

we have hungry in us, we have poor in us, we have things that bind us up.

Fasting to me is a way of unloosing those things in us by reflecting, and being quiet and well keep going star, I see a lot of what your putting down, right here in my own self, Amen?

Lets keep looking....

Love ya

Binding and loosing, measuring out and increasing in measure. Extending mercy and obtaining mercy. Do that which is pleasing to Him that more of Him can be revealed.

Sowing to the Spirit of life and reaping and being rewarded with a harvest within and partaking of His divine nature as light comes forth within.

Sow Him and reap Him who is LOVE.

I'm getting it

Not at all, starlaa, girl. Was just wondering how by doing these things we raise up the foundation of many generations. Foundations of New Jerusalem, I guess. Interesting that this says many generations in the foundation.

Lone Very Happy GIRL , this is exactly what I have thought and considered for quite awhile , but was never brave enough to state this

out loud !

its been in my heart for 3 years sis !

because of the turning the fathers hearts back to the children

generations ,,,

Deu 32:46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day,

which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

1Ki 8:39 Then'' hear thou in heaven '''thy dwelling place,

and forgive, and do,

and give to every man according to his ways,

whose heart thou knowest;

(for thou, [even] thou only, knowest the'' hearts of all '''the children of men;)

Luk 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias,

to turn''' the hearts of the fathers''' to the children,'''

and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just;

to ''make ready a people '''prepared for the Lord.

Love in Him , rose

For some reason that part of your post jumped out at me, star. It was a great post. You know how some things speak to us depending on where we are.

lol Mo Laughing Were trying to "blend what we have" and still "blend together" with what we have until we reccognize each others strengths and weakness in certain things we can grow together (your well aware of mine lol its just not happening in the tribe number department but you can oftentimes make sense of it for me) I'm all inner, if the verse does not apply SOMEHOW to Christ in me I set it off to the side and grab the good out of it for myself, heck, no use worrying about what you don't understand if you can go with what you do until your search brings even greater things to you. Very Happy

I was looking at the verse and foundations, I kinda ran dry with exception of certain words which I gathered in that spoke of restoring, I ended up seeing something (in Hag.) concerning "consider your ways" and what we expected and the Lord blowing away, then I was like wow! He blows fires (winds) against what we built just as Paul said. So I went in that direction which has been awesome given I have been studying in this direction. Ever present is our Lord. lol.

Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Isaiah 58:12 And [they that shall be] of thee shall ""build the old waste places"": thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, """The repairer""
Restoring

Psalm 23:3 He """restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths"" of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalm 5:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me [with thy] free spirit.

Hag 1:5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

Hag 1:6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages [to put it] into a bag with holes.

Had 1:7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

Hag 1:8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.

1Corinth 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

1Corinth 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

Hag 1:9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, [it came] to little; and when ye brought [it] home, I did (((( blow upon it.)))) Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that [is] waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.

Psalm 47:15 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, [and] the waters flow.

1Corinth 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

1Corinth 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

1Corinth 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Ezek 22:21Yea, I will gather you, and (((( blow upon you in the fire of my wrath))) and ((( ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.)))

Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the (( winds blew)) and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Luke 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the ((stream)) beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. (Is not the breath of the Lord as a "stream of brimstone"?)

The reward is in the correct building, the "considering of ones ways" and the foundation laid

Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

The consequences of not considering our ways is expressed in spiritual words, no fruit or harvest coming forth. So abiding in the Vine and practicing His words the fruit of His life is evidence of your discipleship.

Hag 1:10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed [from] her fruit.

In Him

Lone,

Check this site out...

http://www.new-life.net/fasting

It can be a rewarding experience. I was doing 48 hour periods at one time, but you will experience some hunger pains, dizziness, and headaches. Ultimately, it is up to you and your relationship with God. I think that God is pleased with whatever you decide in His name. Good Luck!
