Homophobic Judge Roy Moore Pans Gay Marriage Ban

(Gadsden, Alabama) Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore hasn't changed his anti-gay ways but he says he's dead set against a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.
Moore says there is no way that an amendment would work. In Moore's mind the real problem is "renegade courts".
" If marriage was constitutionally defined as a man and a woman," he says " some judge would probably let a man marry his sister or daughter."
Moore says Congress needs to pass the Constitution Restoration Act, which would stop courts from forbidding acknowledgment of God as the basis of law.
"Marriage is the union of a man and a woman, it's a God-ordained institution," he said.
If that standard is destroyed, Moore says " there's nothing to keep three men and a horse from getting married, or an entire city."
Moore was removed from the bench last November after Alabama's nine-member Court of Judicial Inquiry found that he violated judicial ethical standards for defiance of a federal judge's order to move a Ten Commandments monument from the rotunda of the state courthouse. (story)
In February 2002 when the state supreme court ruled against a lesbian mother who was seeking custody of her three daughters Moore used a litany of homophobic adjectives to describe homosexuality, calling it among other things "an inherent evil" that should not be tolerated.
His decision went on to say that the mother's relationship made her an unfit parent and that homosexuality is "abhorrent, immoral, detestable, a crime against nature, and a violation of the laws of nature."
Moore still hopes to win back his job on appeal, but won't rule out running for some other office. _________________ "Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials." (James 1:2)

Young man, I don't believe you understand that if one doesn't like the sin of homosexuality, one isn't afraid of the homosexuals themselves. The suffix "phobic" implies fear.
If you saw a pile of, er, something bad and thought it was disgusting, would you be afraid of it? Of course not. You just wouldn't want to step in it! |

"Phobic" also implies hate. But the fear is present with many of them, witness the hyperbolic alarmisms about "the gay agenda".
BTW I ain't a guy. _________________ "Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials." (James 1:2)
