Even when the Pope is against it! That means that the Pope does NOT speak for the church. That's the point you so deceptively tried to avoid. Either speaking FOR the death penalty goes AGAINST the RCC doctrine, or the Pope goes against church doctrine. There is no other possibility

Well, since you have now evoked party politics into catholicism, unless the Pope is outright lying, he has declared the Death Penalty to be an immoral action. Guess you are NOW saying that we can't vote for anybody who either supports the death penalty or abortion, right? because otherwise, you would show yourself to be a hypocrite, right?
