Easy Way to Quote.
I probably quote different than most people. I worked out a way that works well for me. Most all of us cut & paste what they want to quote. I usually Copy rather than cut.
(1) First I highlight & copy what I want to quote.
(2) Next I paste it in the posting box.
(3) Now hightlight it again in the box.
(4) With your mouse click on quote button above the post box.
Now between quote & the second ] bar put your mouses blinking cuser.
Type: ="Nobby" or whoever or whatever your quoting.
I will quote That God Loves You!

I put a space behind the first bar so i could show it to you. Be sure not to when you try it.
This is the way that it should work.

Hiding A Long Link
A way to put a complete address link benieth a single word or more!

Don't leave the space between the first bar & url.

This one won't work because i dont have a proper address.
you can put those great long address links under one small word.
Then it won't stretch these pages out so much.

8) 8) He has away of appearing where we don't want him. For him to apear it takes an 8 followed by an ), (parenthesis) to avoid this use 8 space ), 8 ).
This happens so much when typeing Bible verse locations.
8 +)= 8)
8+space +)= 8 )
Anyone can edit their own post, just put a space between the 8 & the ) .

This problem has long been solved!

How to Highlight
#1 To highlight I always find the last word of what I want to highlight. I put my mouse marker right behind that word.
#2 Then I push down on the left button & hold it & I slowly move it along the line to the front edge.
#3 Then still holding the button down move it slowly up. you will highlight a line at a time as you move upward.
#4 If the point where you want to start quoting is in the middle of the line, just go on & highlight the whole line.
#5 Then still holding down the left mouse button, carfully move to the right along this line until you reach the the first word you want highlighted, then release the button.
Now you are ready to copy & paste. This will help you to learn to Highlight words. Go to the top of this post it will show you how to quote.
If you've never done this before just practice over & over. It's easy!

It only takes a moment. Then we don't have to scan all thru the thread to find out who your talking to.

I actually just have a couple of questions:
1) Exactly what is Private Message? Does it go to someones E-Mail in-box or is it like Instant Messaging?
2) Why do I have access to PM sometimes and other times, the link is not there? Did I break a rule or something or did I log in incorrectly?
I got the quote thing down the first day so why am I having such a hard time understanding the PM thing? |

You have a virtual e-mail account on this board. Up at the top of the screen, you can click and read your private messages.
Yes, it sounds like sometimes you're logging in, and other times you're not. |

Thanks for the education! I had PM'd Nobby and I kept checking my (personal) email account and never saw a response! (I found Nobby's response tonight, thank you very much)!
Bet ya' can't tell what color my hair is, can you? LOL. Pretty soon I will be able to blame blond moments and senior moments!

Hi luvnlife, The PM's work much like e-mail, but they're not mail, they never leave the board. They are Private Messages & can only be recieved here on the board.
They are not sent to anyones e-mail address! |
