I am an old man of 62 and I distinctly remember the WT proclaiming dates and urgent statements for Armageddon throughout the years. With such phrases as "it won't be long now", "this could be the GENERATION Christ spoke of", "all the signs indicate the time is near." I read all these and similar phrases over the years in their magazines. I also read where many members left over false predictions.

Has the WTS now relaxed it's position and gotten out of doomsday just being around the corner? Certainly a generation has come and gone since 1914. For all who lived in that date or were born are now dead. What is the WTS new approach? Or is there any?

Hi rarndt01, I'm an old man also, I'm 67 so I gottya by 5. Very Happy In your profile there's a place for your birth date, if you want to post it.

Hummmmmm........."1914". Maybe He actually came back on that date & they never told us!

Are you a active JW or one that has long since gone AWOL? Have you experienced the same doomsday predictions by the WTS over the years, as I did? What do you think of that? But evangelical writers are just as guilty with saying Russia supposedly was to attack Israel and how many evangelicals predicted the Y2K deathnell as well. What do you think of all this?

No I am neither, I'm just a very friendly guy, who wanted to welcome you to our board. Smile What little I know about JW's is what I've read, & dealing with them on the three boards that I'm administrator off.
You take care now,
Nobby

Laughing #LOL ...and we're all doomed because we missed it! And I wasn't even born yet!

Nobby, rememeber the book that came out in 1988, "88 Reasons Why Jesus Will Return in 1988"? Maybe He came back in '88, and the author of that book was the only one taken in the rapture. I haven't heard much from him since! Laughing
