I'am Danny Haszard from Bangor Maine usa.Former member of the Jehovah's witnesses.Exited out 1-5-92 was in for 33 years.I was 3rd generation,so they still are holding most of my family hostage.The Watchtower swindled most of my family assets,left me desitute at first but i have recovered much.

The worst thing that high demand destructive Bible based cults do to their victims is they 'soul rape' you so you become angry at God.

It's been called."surrogate displacement" rage.You become 'mad at the world' and it takes a long time to recover,

God is good and gracious and i am stronger for it.I have a counter-cult home page please visit and browse.I am determined to provide education and support to warn others of these,'wolves in sheep's clothing'.

The difficulty with JW's is there blind allegiance to the WTS as Jehovah's mouthpiece today. JW's are NOT free to object to the WTS literature. It is as if it is equal to the divine writings of the apostles. Thus one MUST accept the INTERPRETATION of the Watchtower Society as ABSOLUTE truth. This is where one falls into cultism. When a group of godly people, such as the lay members of Jehovah Witnesses are not allowed to think for themselves and discuss the scriptures OPENLY, only mind control dominates. Jehovah witnesses in general are very godly and peace loving people, but sadly they are TOLD what to believe and HOW to live their personal lives. And by whom? The Watchtower Society through it's published literature.

A couple years ago I was asked by a JW if I would like to have a "bible study". I said sure. Quickly he set up a time and returned. When we sat down he pulled out his "paradise" book and and gave me a copy to follow along. I said, "What is this?" He said this is our BIBLE STUDY. I said , no, it is a "BOOK STUDY". I said I would be glad to study chapter by chapter from the bible, but not from a book of the WTS. He refused and so ended our study.

Do you see my point? Jw's do not really study the bible, but read and study the literature published by the Watchtower Society. This is how they are controlled. And there is no allowance for disagreement.

Now I ask you, is this the New Testament example? No. When Paul went into the synagogues he REASONED with the Jews from the Torah. When Paul confronted the Bereans, they examined what he said by the old testament scriptures. What Paul SAID had to agree with what SCRIPTURE said and not the other way around. But the WTS does not follow this rule. The WTS tells it's readers that what it has printed is God's truth and is to be accepted.

This is why I could not become a Jehovah Witness. Because I would not be able to think for myself and I would have to accept every printed line that came from the WTS presses. When one closes his own mind and reasoning and blindly accepts another's literature they become enslaved as a cult member forever.
