I finished the book. As potboiling suspense novels go it wasn't half bad. No doubt it will soon be made into a movie starring Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie or others better known for looks than brains.
I felt the treatment of both Catholics and freemasons/Knights Templar was balanced.
The conclusion was disappointing in that except for the situations of the the characters nothing was truly resolved.
He did have one very good 'twist' where you think one thing is implied, but later you learn that it's something else.
I'd give it a B+. |

Newsweek has a good cover story this week about MM and the sacred feminie and refers to this book. A good read.
They state scholars believe (a majority of them that is) Magdalene was not married to Christ. Of course Newsweek also once stated conclusively that Lee Oswald was the sole assassin of JFK, too. |

| the better not to see you my dear! i did not realize you were around at the time of Jesus which is the only way you could know for sure that fiction is true. either that or you are accepting someone else's word on faith which from your posts you don't believe in. |

| Shepreach, I am accepting historical evidence based on evidence and proof (the opposite of faith). Now, you atempt to question all of history. You imply that the only knowledge we can obtain, is that which occurs during our lifetime. WOW |

Historical evidence?
You give your support to a work of fiction - a supposition of conspiracy based on tenuous tid bits of psuedo-fact, and claim you have historical evidence.
Often folks come on to a board with an agenda, which is perfectly okay. It would be nice if they would dose their agenda with a touch of common sense and an objective view of reality. |

Well, to be fair...
A critic could say with equal aplomb that the Bible is fiction. It is, afterall, about one third history, one third commentary, and one third prophecy...The historical aspect is only having modest archeological support, the commentary is entirely subjective, and the prophecy? Well, I guess that will have to wait. 8) |

Mary Magdalene was one of the women who helped the public ministry of Jesus and His Apostles by contributing out of their private means. She had been healed because seven demons had gone out from her. There is no connection in the text with Mary Magdalene and the woman mentioned as loving Jesus more because more had been forgiven her in Luke 7:44-48.
Mary Magdalene was not married to Jesus, she did not have children by Jesus, and stories that make these assertions are works of fiction.
But based on scripture, what does the actual depiction of Mary Magdalene say, why does she play such a prominent role in the account of Jesus' death and resurrection? |

It is Sinfull to even read that Book or to watch the films of that man.
Tim6:5:"Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. "
