"The argument for positive atheism in the sense of disbelief in an
all-knowing, all-powerful, all-good, completely free, disembodied being
based on Epicurus's problem can be stated very simply: God is by
definition
all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good. If God is all-powerful, He can
prevent evil. If God is all-knowing and can prevent evil, He knows how
to
prevent evil. If God is all-good, He wants to prevent evil. But since
there
is evil, God cannot exist." - Michael Martin, Atheism: A Philosophical
Justification, (Philadelphia, PA: Temple University Press, 1990), p. 335. _________________ The only difference between a cult and a religion is the number of members.--Kenneth Quinell |

all of this is correct except the last sentence. if there was no evil it might prove the existence of God but it would also make humans robots. then, bk, you could not keep your nonbelief in God nor your belief in reason. robots by their very nature do only what their master makes them do.[/quote] _________________ a servant in Christ

There is a reason and a season ... for evil to exist this day.
There is also a season when evil will be not so politely invited to leave this place and to never return.
The bible convey's a message to us from God describing how evil entered our earthly and human existance, a time of discipline that seems awful and even horrible to people because we live thru it every day but, the message also includes a finality to the discipline applied to us by God and the end of evil as we know it to exist.
Hating evil is the only hate that God has ascribed for us to have in our heart during this life that does not have a significant penalty for us to bear when we are judged in the end.
Choose to hate evil and to love God. Love His message of peace delivered to us by God himself in Christ and love ( care for ) your neighbor in mirror image as you would desire that your neighbor care for you.
Evil is in this world, God allows it for a time, but woe to they who practice it, weep for those who admonish it and pray for they who are connivant to its activity.
Connivance strongly implies promotion.
Evil will end and when it does, look up and see Jesus on the throne of God.
He will be smiling from ear to ear, happy that you chose Him and glad that together, we worked out the affairs of salvation.
Peace
